No problem. Jeebus, that was painful.
Mine just arrived yesterday. Thanks OP!
It looks like there is something white stuck inside the mic hole, anyone else's have that?
Very pleased with the camera so far!
Yeah mine is like that too. Looks like its supposed to be that way.

How's the wind-noise at speed? I was thinking of adding a plastic cover over the mic with a snorkel out to the side so air doesn't hit it directly if noise was an issue.Mine just arrived yesterday. Thanks OP!

Mic noise is horrendous. Need to baffle the wind noise somehow.

Yeah, I was hoping the noise wasn't a problem, but it's a physics issue. When you've got moving air moving at a mic, it's going to vibrate the membrane and cause hiss. I'm going to try and put a plastic-cap over the mic hole. On the side of the cap, I'm going to have a 5-6mm tube that'll wrap around the side and aim towards the back. Then there won't be any wind hitting the mic, but the exhaust sounds won't be impeded; maybe even improved!I've taped over the mic hole. I've also taped a piece of cotton ball over it. Wind noise remains prevalent.
I bought the waterproof case for it, and it effectively cuts the wind noise down to half, but still there. Apart from opening up your unit to work on the mic directly, the only other way I could think of as an effective wind-noise deterrent is to mount the unti IN/ON the bike in a location that obstructs the whole unit except the lens. I think this is what scotinexcile did with his setup.
Where's a good place to get a second helmet mount and maybe a handlebar mount? And don't say Amazon cuz I don't want to pay $20 shipping for a $20 product.
Just thumbed thru 4 pages of search results, didn't see Amazon listed as seller on any. I guess the deal's done.
I think the little white thing might be a mic shroud. You know, like the big foam one you see on handhelds?
not a huge fan of contour after the memory card popping out after a crash..![]()

Yep, it's at the lowest setting. It lowers total volume of everything; both unwanted and wanted sounds. If I auto-level the volume in Premiere or Vegas, it raises both wind-hiss and desired audio evenly. I guess I could just leave it at barely audible and super-impose my own exhaust sounds and music-tracks.Have you already toned down the mic sensitivity?
