a lost kitten who we had the pleasure of keeping for a few days before the owners were found

That kitteh's got a GREAT face! If I wasn't so honest and knowing how devastated I'd be over losing such a kitteh, it would still be considered LOST by the original owners! :laughing

long story short my sister found it and couldnt keep it because he husband is highly allergic so i picked it up since i live in a house with 3 cats. i beyond fell in love with the sweetest kitten ever and had no intentions of giving him back but my sister found the original owners. one of whom happened to be a very devastated 7 or 8 year old girl who had his sister kitten. i was naturally born an asshole but even i couldnt keep it

I got a half dead lizard delivered from my feral yesterday.

I grabbed the camera to late to catch Penny in her amazing balancing act- she climbed the kennel, walked across the top rails and onto the roofs- which are made from heavy duty tarps over pipe A frames. she hung around up there for a while lounging like a hammock! :laughing

if only it were legal. why is everything that sounds like fun illegal in cali? i want my next cat to be a savannah, they can get quite big.

I dunno, seems like there are enough domestic cats around that are great pets and you can get at any shelter.

Plus to get one they breed a wild cat with a house cat at some point, so where do they get the wild cat from? What about the domestic cats that get killed by trying to breed with a wild cat? Let nature be nature I say. :p Don't need to start domesticating more stuff again.

yep Jenn, they are sister kittehs. from the litter of five anchor babies the calico feral dropped on us last winter. we had her and the entire litter spayed-she turned out to be quite willing to accept domestication, leading us to believe she had previously been a pet- and and found homes for her and the other 3 little ones.

I know folks who have savannah cats in San Francisco - is it illegal?

But - as pointed out - there are TONS of cats in shelters who need homes. I would discourage anyone I know from purchasing a cat from a breeder.

Everyone I know with exotic cats purchased from breeders ends up dealing with costly, ongoing medical issues.

savannahs are legal even servals are legal in certain counties with the right paperwork. all my cats have been from shelters except for the one feral and the the one my ex found in a box. if there was a chance of finding a savannah at a shelter i would prefer to get it that way but someday i want a massive kitty. as soon as i have a place of my own and have a stable job i want to adopt the old cats who have problems finding homes and give them a great place to spend their last years, instead of spending their weekends in cages at pet stores.
