This last weekend, my experience is that as a racer, not a President (and yes, I have to separate the two...which makes for odd consideration when posting). I caught grief from board members when I posted my comments that I didn't like how the rainout fee was instituted, but that was a member who was caught by the fee, and not an AFM official. If some of you (very few actually...thankfully) feel the need to try and use my AFM status to quash my thoughts and missives from an AFM racer, I understand your goal; to force some censorship where BARF normally offers raw thoughts (from all of us) on a subject.

Oh man, even as an occasional lurker I couldn't help myself from reading a 25 page train wreck and then I run across your little gem! Really, you're appalled at 'censorship' on BARF? Really?? Weren't you the hatchet man for that lovely former club president who was directing you to edit/delete my BARF posts years ago and used 'the good of the AFM' as his excuse? How's it feel to have that come back and bite you in the ass? Ironically, I actually agree with you about speaking your mind and being straight with AFM members rather than acting like some hidden pos 'politician'.

I have also noted that there an many folks that find the RC not so welcoming at times. We see this in some threads where folks may want to know about racing and considering it. In fact I have been asked by a few personally about racing and when I say you should ask your questions here they don't want to because of the heavy click feeling.
Meaning if unless you are a racer, former racer, sponsor of sort or a well known participant in some regard at the track your not very welcomed. That is not saying this is done by all or even a lot, but it is something I think needs to be thought of. These folks should be welcomed.

Let me paint a picture for you, budman. A relatively fragile human being decides to climb aboard a mostly steel and aluminum missile that will propel him/her at speeds sometimes exceeding 160 or even 170 mph with no protection other than a suit and boots made out of a cow's hide and a shell with some styrofoam to protect the head. This same fragile human being will often keep the throttle pinned at over 140 mph through T7 or even T8 at Thunderhill, weaving and sliding, desperately trying to find a little more traction to catch and pass some other rider in front of them. These are all type A personalities who risk life and limb for the simple and overriding desire to beat that other rider, whether it's for the win or 5th place or even 25th place! And you're worried about some timid fuxxing Nancy-boys who might find the BARF RC "not-so-welcoming"??! If they can't stand the heat and bantering on a forum, these poor, delicate wallflowers sure as hell aren't going to be racing motorcycles, so maybe their presence isn't necessary in the RC...

I'm not saying that it's right but the cliquishness of Racer's Corner only mirrors what the actual paddock is like.
Imagine that, every once in a while we actually agree on something... although it's a very unfortunate situation because it tears the AFM apart. At the core of the problem are the lack of communication and double standards applied by those 'with power' in the club. I retired and moved on to other things but those of you who are still racing should really reconsider the current trajectory of the club because I don't think it ends up in a good place.
Lastly... I find it laughable that anyone (other than poor Yakoo) thinks that sponsors or anyone else gives two shits about what's said on BARF's RC. Seriously, it's a bunch of racer egomaniacs (just like WERA forum) talking trash, which is probably half the fun of racing! Will Dorn or KC or even Jose lose business or sponsors over this thread? Hell no, that's ridiculous. The RC is pure entertainment (mixed in with more and more shills... unfortunately) and it's just the same 20-30 characters in a roadracing version of that old show Cheers, giving each other shit and having some fun. Nothing more, nothing less. Keep going, I'll check back with y'all once in a while...
