Anti-Capitalist protesters have done it this time - Going after the Montreal F1 GP..!

*crickets* (4 hours later)

Maybe this can be turned into an actual F1 thread... :laughing

(Spoilers if you haven't seen it.)

Wow, Vettel and RB seem back on form, seems like every time the FIA slaps Red Bull, Vettel makes a strong statement that "it's not just the car".

Button just isn't getting a grip on the McLaren. Still hoping to see some new faces on the podium.

Yeah, protesters aren't ususally the best and brightest. Those people don't have time to protest. ;)

As for qualifying, I love the format of the past few years. Brought back the excitement of the old days. Of course I do miss when they had specific qualifying engines and tires. :) SV was flying, but I must say I was disappointed to see MSC not do better after his good run at Monaco. Seems like the chassis is there, but the engine isn't quite yet.

Apparently Schumacher's team didn't properly advise him on the remaining time during qualifying.

Michael Schumacher failed to get a representative lap in Q3 after failing to beat the checkered flag at the end of Saturday’s qualifying session in Montreal.

Schumacher did a lap to warm up his tires before embarking on what was supposed to be his flier, but failed by less than a second to get around in time. He was thus left stranded in ninth on the grid, having been fourth in Q1 and fifth in Q2.

“Apparently, we crossed the line with the red lights,” said Schumacher. “When I crossed the line I physically saw the green lights, so I don’t know. We planned to do two laps, to warm up the tires and then go for it, so I did.

I agree with them protesters, I mean one car cost for a year can run 3 or 4 drones and blow dem nasty guys up :)

I hate to say this as I am a Hamilton fan.

Redbull will win, Hamilton loses in the pits again suffering a long tire change.

Ferrari 2nd with Alonso

Well, the race is today at 1100 on speed. Rooting for Alonso who is on pole from yesterday's Q3. Still wondering if Perez or Webber will take Massa's job next year. And watching those cars do the "twist" will be the best part of the show..! :burnout

Hope no protestors get in the way today, or else..! :bump

Alonso is behind the pole man. Vettel :p

Oh shit. That's right. Thanx..! :party

A picture of a picture. Taken on one of a few trips I've made to the Canadian GP.
I had to see if this guy was as good as everyone said. Turns out he was.
Anyone recognize the driver?

Protesters targeted the F1 Gala that was there to raise funds for hospitals. Talk about going after the wrong crowd. Now they pledge on targeting the entire Grand Prix weekend..! :facepalm

Let's have a big party for hospitals. Why not just donate money directly to the hospital, including the funds for the party?

Rich scumbags have charities too:

If you want to harass rich people, a F1 event seems perfect.

Ok, I'm off to the Olympic Club to Occupy The US Open.
