Breaking Bad Season 5- All Hail the King

The prison assassinations carried out within minutes of each other was pure genius. He sent a message. Like taking down an old building with timed explosives, awesome.

The book thing is a bit unbelievable. Walt has been so careful about everything I can't believe that he would keep the book.

Besides, couldn't he say he got it at a used book store or something? It seems a bit of a stretch that Hank would believe Walt would be involved.

Edit: I guess the inscription would be hard to explain as a coincidence.

And what about Walt's deal with the other drug guys, the distributors?

And please tell me that wasn't the last episode of the season.:(

I also thought it was a bit ridiculous that Walt would have kept the book that Gale had inscribed and gifted him with, especially since he has gone to such far lengths and been so meticulous about covering his tracks.

I was really glad to see Walt make Jesse whole as well. The chase is definitely on next season. Does anybody else think Lydia (Laura Fraser) is hawt? I do.

Lydia needs to cross over to Game of Thrones or Sexy Vampires or some other HBO show so we can see her nekkid.

gale in season 3 (although technically, he was killed early in season 4)
gus in seasons 4
mike in season 5 (first half)

someone's probably going down in the finale. should be a main character - walt, hank or jesse or some combination (eg walt+jesse).

If I'm Hank and I find out that EVERY body on the list in the picture frame is dead EXCEPT Lydia, I might be inclined to pay her a visit.

I would be inclined to pay her a visit anyway.:leghump

Anyone else think Skylar planted the book?

Nah, how would she have gotten a hold of it? Plus, if she really wanted to expose Walt she could have anonymously mailed the book to Hank's office, or done a million other things that would have been more plausible.

There's some competing theories out there that Holly's death will be the climax of the series finale, but I don't really see that happening. I've also heard that Vince Gilligan has been known to include little subtleties throughout the series dialogue that indicate events that will occur in the foreseeable future. For example, a few episodes ago while Holly and Walt Jr. are still staying at their aunt & uncle's house, Hank comes home from work and asks Jr. if he would like to watch a movie that he has rented with him, he references the title of the movie as Heat.

In the movie heat, the storyline revolves around a successful heist crew, who after introducing a new member to their criminal team (re: Todd), experiences a succession of downfalls eventually leading to their demise. I like this a lot because it's a trend that appears throughout the series if you pay close enough attention to the "white noise" in the background.

I still can't believe I have to wait a whole entire year to watch the conclusion of this epic series, fuck me.

I just watched all 4 seasons this week and I have to say, meh. I'll probably watch season 5 when it's available on Netflix, but all in all, I'm not impressed. I think if these guys knew more about the actual drug and Meth trade they're writing about the show would be more interesting. The acting is pretty top notch though.

Pride. That book stoked Walt's ego, which is ultimately his downfall. It was a trophy of sorts, like how a serial killer keeps trinkets from his victims.

We already know that Walt runs, hiding out in New Hampshire? But he comes back to New Mexico and buys an M60. Who is it for? There's gotta be an epic "say hello to my little friend" moment at the end of this season.
