Breaking Bad Season 5- All Hail the King

You probably also criticized how no one heard a compressor 300 yds away in the DEAD of the desert?

I need to enjoy fiction more :nchantr

Deserts are actually more sound absorptive than forests.

More accurately, there's very little to reflect the sound and dirt has a high absorption coefficient. Plus, they were in an arroyo which would mask it further. As mentioned, the idling locomotive would be loud as hell compared to a compressor.

that was one awkward dinner...

I was thinking the whole time, "this has got to be the most awkward dinner ever televised in history".

It's almost weird to say now but at the beginning, like in season one, I didn't really care for Jesse as a character. He just rubbed me the wrong way. But now, I honestly have to say that in regards to likability, he's my favorite.

Walt is completely gone, his personality has made a total 180 and it's just getting hard to keep rooting for the guy considering he no longer has a 'moral cause'. And of course, this is direction the exec producers want the viewer to head towards.

When this episode opened with that kid getting "barreled" I couldn't help but smirk but at the same time think to myself, there's no way Walt is ever going to be completely likable after this event. No way no how, he is in Tony Montana mode and his downfall is imminent.

A man with nothing to lose has nothing to fear. I love the direction Walt has taken, even though it seems a little reckless. Personally, if I were in his shoes, I'd sell the methylamine, set up a trust fund for the kids (1 mil), ditch cunt-face Skyler, and take off to some tropical paradise of my choice.

Oh yeah, Walt's demise is eminent from this development in season 5. Part of me want Walt to take the 'deal' and call it quit, go back to rebuilding his collapsed family, but part of me want to see the big bang ending. Poor Jesse, i think he'll be dragged alone with Walt, after he wanted to get out.

My daughter and I just caught up from season S1:E1 to Last night. Took us a bit but we Marathon'd it all weekend.

Got to say I am still uneasy with the show in general mainly because of my personal experience in that world watching friends die, go nuts and or recover from it. So there is no premise of glorification of it for me. The way the characters have built out through the seasons have been great. Skyler has BLIMPED and really has become not so much the bitch, but shows how this is all effecting her personal morals and ethics. Jesse is a lost kid, wants to do right, is conscious of everything going on but has no way to get out in his mind as Walt has really manipulated him. Marie needs to be bitch slapped she annoys me to all get out, Hank, how many know a Hank? ambitious prick but gets the job done. Walt, then there is Walt, ya feel sorry for the guy, understand the guy at first, but he transforms to be a narcissist using the "Victor Salamanca" Code of Family to rationalize his Demons.

The Best Episode in My Opinion thus far, Chicken Man getting Blown Down to Hell.

Anyone catch the connection between Victors Morbid "Its about Family" and Walts "Its all About family"

Loved it. Walt explained his seemingly irrational desire to create an "empire" rather than "sell out." He sold out his seat at the millionaires' table, he lost his wife, she took his kids, he has nothing. Five million? So the fuck what? Retire comfortably. 300 M? Retire in Monte Carlo, fuck bitches, make money. Damn him, he won me back over to his side.

BTW, over the top bike part out. Then again, they don't want any Yamaha TTR250 parts suddenly showing up on Craigslist or fleabay.

Sure he could potentially make 300mil if he cooks, but is it worth the risks? And with Pinkman & Mike getting out of the business, who will handle distribution? Who will provide protection? He's back to square one, and has no one in his corner.

Preview of next episode shows a brief scene of Walt meeting with the competitors. Since the competitors couldn't reproduce the blue meth, I'm thinking Walt's going to propose that he cooks for their cartel. They have something he needs (distribution), and Walt has something they want (blue meth).

I thought that was really cool, story-wise. You get to see the full on dismantling of the motorcycle, knowing that the body is next...

OMG!!!!!!!!

Walt is UN-Hinged!!! I still love Walt, but DAMN!!!! Why did he have to do THAT!!!!

Also, the 'bragging' about what he did to Gus- that was STUPID!!!

Shit I just started watching Season 1 on Netflix. This shit is going to be epic.

"Say my name!" :rolleyes Ego got the best of him. And just when I started to like Mike, he died.

Walt's become a cancer. Everything he touches dies.

That whole; "Say My NAME" bit was straight up Gangsta!!!!

(Note- I'm a Guy who HATES anyone who acts/claims to be a gangsta/thug, but I LOVE it when Mr. White does it!!!!!)

I guess because he is the antitheses of what we perceive to be a Gangsta. Either way, I still love Mr. White.

You just like the blue stuff thats all:x

Maybe for the finale, instead of Walt getting killed or going to prison, he's going to be king of a lonely empire, with no family or friends.

Loved this show, but it's getting retarded and Walt's character isn't transforming in a believable way. And killing off Mike was a big mistake.
