I love action movies. Especially ones that involve wanton gun violence. :teeth

What do you think are some of the movies with the best gunfight scenes? My personal favorites are:
-Heat (the shootout after the bank robbery is really intense)
-End of Watch (feels like you're there)
-Tombstone (OK Corral shootout)
-Open Range (some parts are unrealistic on number of shots between reloads, but still well done)
-Last Man Standing (VERY unrealistic on number of shots between reloads, but entertaining
-Saving Private Ryan (war film, of course there'll be a lot of shooting)
-Black Hawk Down (as above)

How about you?

Road to Perdition - When he kills everyone with the Tommy Gun
The Way of the Gun (funny and unrealistic) Hospital scene

Any movie where red commie bastards die in large numbers..! :flag :thumbup

Unrealistic? In what way?

Actually, I thought pretty much all of WotG was pretty spot-on. Negligent discharges, clearing jams while in a firefight... All except for the picture-perfect holes Benicio Del Toro's AK left in the cathouse walls.

The final shootout from The Wild Bunch.

The elevator scene from The Usual Suspects.

The locker room scene from To Live and Die in LA. "FREEZE IT UP, PAL!"

2nd - Good Bad and the Ugly

The gun fight between Fonda and Bronson.

That's a great list right there. And I'm glad Heat is at the the top. Michael Mann does gunfights well. Though the movie as a whole was a letdown, the final shootout in Miami Vice is worth an honorable mention.

The elevator scene from The Usual Suspects.

The elevator scene? That wasn't much of a gunfight. Or am I thinking of the wrong scene (when McManus kills Kobayashi's bodyguards)?

Realistic gunplay is rarely that fun to watch. The best action firearms sequences ever are in THIS. I tend to prefer good hand to hand fight scenes in action films though.

Also, the "miracle" scene in Pulp Fiction was pretty cool.

<bang> "Oh! Did I break your concentration?"

Without a doubt this scene from "Hard Boiled."

Heat
The Way of the Gun
Ronin
Act of Valor
Blackhawk Down

While I will probably think of several others, I'm partial to Training Day.

A classic tactical debate of pump-action vs 9mm, Denzel doing his best improv, and as a bonus, a naked Eva Mendes.

Actually naked Eve Mendes means win.
