So what's wrong with them?? Why are they so cheap? I'm on a phone so I don't feel like doing a whole lot of research.

Ever tried those?

A valid reason why they are sold so cheap.

Sweet I was looking to get some new tires. I guess I will see how these are, just ordered a set!

I've actually heard good things about Avon tires as far as touring tires are concerned.

I used an avon rear and liked it, wore fast as usual but wasn't a bad tire. Running avon on the front now, a tire is a tire for me though.

Thank you!

Just bought a set for the Z1000. 130 bucks TOTAL! We'll see how they compare gripwise to the Pirelli Diablo Streets. Website says to expect 4 to 5k miles.

That's about 40 bucks cheaper than tires for my RD400 (BT45).

To be tested on the Windy Ridge (hell maybe Johnston Ridge too!) side of Mt. Saint Helens and some rides from Estacada, OR to Detroit Lake, OR (beautiful pristine in teh summer baby).

I still have a new diablo front and rear to go through first. Nice to have cheap backups for the slow guys.

watch out for Superstore; known bad place to buy things from...

example: great deal on xxxx, yes thank you for your order (takes cc info.) Next day your notified of a back order, AFTER they've taken your money. Back order goes into weeks, then months, then.....

GOOD LUCK if you use them...

Avon tires are good quality.

The backorder question can be answered by calling to inquire before you order.

In your opinion. MY experience with Avon was pretty awful. very little grip and when it gets wet it goes to zero. I learned a lot about how to ride and how to slide due to them though.

EBD: Thanks for the heads up! Hopefully, that won't be my experience this time around.

I have had that experience w/ a V-rated Avon for the RZ350 (wet slip).

One question: do you do the speed limit or 2X or 3x in the corners? I'm basically a 2X corner rider mostly. I won't be using these in the winter, for sure! Switch to Diablo Streets for that.

I don't notice anything out of the ordinary with the rear avon I ran. The front is a scooter tire and seems to be good so far a few hundred miles in, hasn't bucked me like a bronco yet. Haven't gotten a chance to ride the front tire in the rain yet.

Curious, which Avon tires were you using on what bike?

The Avon's are no cheaper than a set of Pilot Powers. I wouldn't run them.
(o.k. maybe 15 bucks cheaper. $211 at set for Powers.)
