The Most Overated Rock band, Singer or Song Writer

Led Zeppelin.

Greatest cover band ever! But seriously, growing up white and in the suburbs, when I "discovered" Led Zeppelin it was cathartic but when I discovered who they stole from it was both disappointing and cathartic at the same time. it sent me on a journey to hear all the old blues icons from the past. Watch Jack Black riff with Jimmy Page in "it might get loud" and you'll see two guys who love the history and respect it in a different way.

Rush and Dio make my list as well.

Ok I am just not getting it, this thread is either full of sarcasm or a pathology I just cannot understand. Shame on some of you barfers, shame, :afm199

Edit: I mean, Led Zeppelin and Metallica? What's next? The Monkeys?:twofinger

What about Paul Revere & the Raiders? :laughing

You're alright.

When the wife buys me a Porsche I'll totally have you work on it.

Someone says this:
Tool = for tools.
All sounds the same. Yea sound like my dad.

Yet no fucking word of Kiss (or at the least Gene Simmons)..... Ugh, fuck those guys...

am having a hard time with this question - seems geared toward seriously old time rock and roll. in which case the who always confused me as to the credit and appeal. only slightly higher in the sedimentary record - def leppard - who, other than a couple of tunes - totally sucked.

with regard to the beatles - catchy little band and pop phenomenon, but in no stretch of the imagination - a rock and roll band, so no idea why they are mentioned.

:wtf Not a rock and roll band?

The Beatles were the ultimate rock and roll band. They were all great musicians and paid their dues. After reading all the Beatle hate on here I'm starting to think they're the most underrated band!

Just listen to Paul's bass playing on this

Forgot that one. You're right, I never got what all the hype was about. Maybe you had to be stoned.

Irregardless how good the Beetles were as musicians, a band or song writers they started a revolution or spear headed it and for this alone should not be underated.:x

:thumbup

I always thought they were average players who were just good at writing catchy tunes, which is an art form of it's own, but damn they could all play they hell outta their instruments. I've been playing bass recently in a band and they wanna cover this song, after hearing the way Paul plays it I was like hmmmm...... let's do a different song!:laughing
