The F3 wasn't exactly known for high end suspension
Ahhh....no. The F3 had VERY high-end suspension. That's why it's so desireable today. Cartridge forks, fully adjustable rear shock with remote reservoir. Shit, even the 1994 Honda CBR600F2 had these features (the '91-'93 F2 did not)
Compare that to the bare bones budget crap suspension attached to these low-cost bikes like the R3, Ninja 300...it's no comparison. The fork technology on the 2016 R3 and Ninja 300 was designed in like 1976 or thereabouts.
