Yeah, it was good and creepy. Brought back that sense of dread that was missing from all other Alien movies besides the original.
Ending sucked though.

Watch it again before you see covenant and then tell me which you like better.
As for worst Alien movie, I have to go with Alien 3. I am sad to say it, because one of my favorite directors directed it, Jean-Pierre Jeunet who also did City of lost Children, Delicatessen, Amelie etc. I thought he was weird choice and as it turn out the Alien movie is fucking awful.
Still don't understand what is so appealing about Prometheus. It was visually spectacular, but the story kind of sucked and the dialog was very childish for the most part. It was on the intellectual level of AVP2, but took itself very goddam seriously. If it wasn't for Fassbender, I think it would definitively be the worst Alien movie ever. Instead, it's just probably the worst Alien movie ever.
*patiently waiting for Covenant to come out on DVD*
Jeunet directed Alien: Resurrection
That is the worst in the series.
That's your problem. Prometheus isn't an alien movie. It's not even a prequel. It's a loose origin story.
Can we all at least agree the original Alienis the best in the series (no not Aliens).
Also, i don't consider AvP to be a part of the Alien or Predator series. Just a hollywood money grab. God those movies are bad.
As for covenant, still better than the last couple starwars movies.
Starwars is turning into a wait for blu ray series for me unfortunately.

Heh, I actually think the director's cut of Alien 3 was really good. Better than Aliens. The theatrical version isn't so great, but way better than anything that came after it.
Jeunet directed Alien: Resurrection
Yeah I like the old AVP comics. Predator versus Batman was even fun
I still have the original 'Dark Horse Presents' AvP issue.
I also still have the original 6 issue 'Aliens' story line. (That i still think would have made a KILLER sequel!) And the second 4 issue, all airbrushed artwork, series. I have a couple odds and ends after that, because the art and stories went to crap.
Great idea. Piss poor execution.
The downhill run started at: Oh, looks! God gave us a Goldielocks planet, right in our path and it will take a mere months to reach rather than the 7 years to that other mote! The entire crew, less three, will be going planetside to see if it's habitable. Yes, including the captain. What's wrong with you? Don't you know it's a common horror flick trope that every one's completely stupid even though we're supposed to be highly trained scientists and leaders? Sheesh. Next thing you'll say is that if we had the technology to launch a ship capable of interstellar travel carrying thousands of people in metabolic stasis maybe we should have packed a few planet exploratory satellite arrays?
And it wasn't that the story would have had to be changed dramatically to have included answers for these and other questions. It just showed how lazy the writing was. Lazy storytelling is the worst. If I want that I'll watch anime.
That is the worst in the series.

NO WAY. Aliens 3 was hella the worst. I have seen it twice and decided never to bother again. 1,2 and 4, I have watched many times. Resurrection was fun total Sci-Fi fun. The Basketabll scene? Love it.
ALIENS is the best one, hands down. Even Prometheus was better than Aliens 3.
