Sold out venue that definitely lived up to it's expectations, it was a top notch fight that was very close, and very exciting/entertaining. I thought that Serrano won, due to her domination in the the first half of the fight, but Taylor took back control at the end of the fight, and was defending her belts. Regardless of the outcome, it was a good night for the sport of boxing.

It is so weird to me that people still watch boxing, but I am glad you had fun.

All competition boils down to to the question of, "what is best in life", and boxing is a fairly basic and easily interpreted form of competition.

Missed the womens fight but i did watch the whole Valdez/Stevenson fight. Shakur is a master piece.

Missed it, thug rose be back for udv ppv though.

She knocked that azn UFC title contender 2x

Stevenson is amazingly talented, saw him live at an Olympic qualification event years ago, and he was the clear stand out of all the competitors, and already had a pro style as an amateur.

I think we discussed it in another thread....I very much enjoy a good boxing or other regulated martial arts fight, but I am amazed we allow it to be legal. But it is, so I don't give anyone shit about it :)

I'd love to learn the sport of boxing,if possible to do so safely.

I used to box-a most excellent sport!
Glad to see a women's headliner drew much attention.

I love Thug Rose!

What part about training do you feel is unsafe? The majority of any martial arts gyms/dojos are a very safe environment. The ones where members act like cave men and ancient gladiators are outliers.

I'm an advocate for everyone learning some form of martial art. 1) Self defense is important and B) Training usually teaches people to not be shit heads over random disagreements where they think they're such a tough guy and can't handle conflict like a mature adult because getting into random fights is not worth it.

Headgear and gloves my friend. I would love more formal instruction as well but the time suck of going to a gym with training would not work. It would be about an hour each way to the gym and back.

Really not a fan of the Paul Bros but the spotlight they have shown on boxing and the disparities in pay have been hugely beneficial to women in boxing. He even advocates for better wages and healthcare for MMA fighters so I guess they have some redeeming values.

Jake Paul and his brother are both assclowns. They act like they care about fighters not being paid enough while they put on sideshow fights raking in millions of dollars and men and women on their undercard are getting paid 2-3k.

Anyone that thinks they care about anyone other than themselves is being duped.

Interesting. Why?

You kids might be surprised to find that there’s a whole world outside of tiktok

:laughing Remind me again, ancient one, what is a tiktok?

Mikey, it was an exciting back and forth fight. It blew away expectations.

:wow

CHESS!!! :love

Yeah, I have just never really appreciated the sport, it is so bloody limited.

When I was a kid, before MMA was much of a thing, I liked to watch Muay Thai if I could, but it was rarely available in the States. They didn't really grapple, but at least they used elbows and knees so it didn't feel like the fighters were wearing a straight jacket the whole time.

Once UFC took MMA to the next level, pro boxing as a thing just became perplexing to me. Like, who wants to watch a BMX race with training wheels on, you know?

Like I said though, I'm all for it if people like it, but I just don't understand the appreciation for the sport. It is like people who watch Golf or Tennis to me.

2 people mano a mano. Handle your conflict and move on. Shake hands and drink a beer afterwards, laugh about it. We may even become friends.

Theres just something about straight up fisticuffs. Something somewhere along the way has been lost. Pussification of america. Sometimes, violence solves things.

I very much appreciate martial arts and MMA as well. Them and boxing can teach things that cant be taught to kids normally.

I was always the one and only white dude in the mexican boxing gyms. They loved it and were always surprised when i did too.

Safe? with headgear and gloves? NO - boxing is not safe. My opinion!
