    • Pricing - Know the current market value of the bike. Check Kelly Blue book, NADA, CycleTrader, Ebay, Craigslist (even though some people on Craigslist are asking non-realistically high prices and will never be able to sell the bike at their asking price), and know what the current market value of a similar bike is before considering a purchase. Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

    • Comments within a sale thread should be on topic and educational. Aggressive critiques and inside jokes will not be tolerated. Don't fuck it up, because the next step is disabling the "reply" feature entirely.
    • If you disagree with a price, keep it to yourself. The seller has set the price. If you don't like it, don't buy it and move on. If you really feel strongly about it, then PM the seller.

      BARF isn't craigslist, ebay, cycletrader, etc. Buyers who are looking to buy from random strangers do so on one of the above mentioned sites. 05-06 CBR 600RR Fairings

For those interested in converting their 03-04 or need spare parts I have all the fairings for a 05-06. They were painted gloss white (rattle can job). The front cowl has a crack and scuffs on the right side. The tank has a medium sized scuff on the top right. The right mid fairing has minor scuffs. The left mid fairing has no scuffs. The bottom left and right are in good condition except the right side was burnt by the exhaust. The front fender is in decent condition (no cracks). The rear cowl has a big crack (but whoever buys any part can have it for free). Also have rear fender hugger painted gloss white. Also have the 05-06 black side plastic in good condition.

I will have pictures up soon, just putting this thread up to see if I get any bites. Parts will go for super cheap just make me an offer on the part you are interested in. Thank you

I may be interested in the rear hugger, and by rear cowl you're talking about the plastics around the seat? If so I'd be very interested in both of these parts
 
Will post pictures in the morning. Get them while you can. They aren't the best quality but they are OEM fairings that were put together to make this. Letting it go cheap so dont be shy to make me an offer!


on a side note: I am looking for 03-06 CBR 600rr rear sets (really looking for the right side but I will take both). Please call me or PM me if you have for sale or for tradesies.

The pictures show that it was ripped pretty bad. You can have it free with purchase of anything there or just pick it up for $5.
 
im thinking of putting an rr tail on my bike, and then eventually making a carbon fiber tail this winter break... damn, too bad you don't have a rear hugger :(

ah fuck! lol i know it would, the problem is i dont know if i can get the finish right before i make the mold for the carbon :(
 
how many of these things do you have left? i wanna swing by and see if the rr fairings are close enough to my f4i and slap that shit on there...
 
I actually still have all of them. I just posted it up on craigslist so if you want to try it out just give me a call soon. I never heard of a f4i to 600rr conversion but hey anything is possible with the right motivation.
