675 SE? maybe something else (a surprise)
Name
Noe
Ok so im not a noob rider since ive been riding on and off here and in mexico. But i am getting my own first bike after i get my license this month. Im thinking about getting an 08 Daytona 675 SE. What do you guys think?

:laughing:Popcorn I love when these threads pop up allmost everyday now:rolleyes all I can say too you is MSF please:twofinger ask yourself this ?....

Helmet? check...
Gloves? check...
Protective pants? check...
Protective jacket? check...
Riding boots? check...
Back protector? check
If you cant at least buy ALL of these then no you cant afford a 2008 and you should start out on a 500cc or less so you can afford all the gear and learn on something cheaper because in the learning curve "like you" you will dump your shiny new 675 with your seat time...

How often have you been riding? how many miles?

I have the money for all of that and i have enough experience riding, Ive been riding for 3 years on and off on a CBR 600 in Mexico and an R6 in Los Angeles as far as miles go i don't know exactly but i would ride all day with my uncle or cousins and friends. I finish off my MSF this weekend and I haven't bought all of the gear yet because Im waiting until i get the bike. But i have fallen a couple of times nothing too serious (thank god) the only thing ive broken was a pinky.

oh yeah, lol cant buy those because i was also thinking about a CBR600RR

If you can say to yourself, honestly, when that pretty daytona skids across pavement, "meh watever", I say go for it.

Ride safe, get your gear NOW. Bike comes last :thumbup

if you do get it..please let me see it in person...I fucking want that bike soo bad

well you have a little bit of experiance under your belt. The daytona is a great bike..great low and mid range power...rides like its on rails.....sounds amazing...a bit uncomfortable. If you have the will power to take it easy it should be all good. Lots of gear and frame sliders..you wont regret it. good luck

Hi,

Anyone here had the pleasure to ride these two bikes (675 & 600RR) and compare the experience? Street riding only, not on the track. Any feedback is appreciated.

Well I apoligize for my ignorance with your skills :laughing that bike is loads of fun. I had that bike for a week and man if i had the money I would rather have that bike than anything else. just dont lay it down because u wont find parts that easy on CL and its pretty $$$$:cool

keep in mind that bike hasn't changed since it came out, save for the large daytona blazed on the bottom of the fairings now. the SE black paint with the gold flakes is hot, along with some of the other accents, but if I was looking to save a few thou an older model has identical performance.

its ok, yeah it is expensive and all but as soon as I laid my eyes on it, it was like love at first sight :laughing. If it is the case that I cant get it im going to go with a used one.

Well considering you are riding without a license you are an idiot so yeah buy a brand spanking new bike thats cool, you are probably stupid enough to not buy enough gear(shorts/sandles and leather gloves) and you are probably noob enough to bin in within 6 months...do I have any takers??:thumbup Ill throw 5 on it...sorry just my .02

Have you had the pleasure to ride a 675? I can tell you this..it is like no other 600cc bike you have ridden it is WAY beefed up with power in ALL rpm's it pulls very hard..I would not recommend this bike to anyone that is even at your noob level:x

Just my :2cents then I'll :Popcorn. I've taught people that have been riding most of their life in India that they have no clue why they can not grasp the concepts of the MSF way. Grabbing the front brakes and partially loosing the front tire here, relying on the rear brake too much there, and looking 5 feet in front of the front tire almost rear-ending another student. So you decide.

:Popcorn

You guys are too quick to hammer people who just sign up. Don't assume just because they are new to the board they haven't been around the block a few times. :party
