I'm planning on riding from SF to Laguna Seca for the AMA Races on Sunday the 28th, to meet up with a friend coming up from Pasa Robles, and then riding back to SF afterwards. Anyone else heading down that way wanna ride? I'd like to roll by no later than 7:00am, as it's a good 120 miles and about 2 hours ride. :ride The ride home will take a little longer due to traffic. :rolleyes

Any Takers?

Here's the schedule:

Here's the route I'm taking:

Meeting at Chevron Gas Station 1005 W El Camino Real
Sunnyvale and leaving promptly by 7:30am:

Should be a blast of a ride and a great day at the races too. :thumbup

If I am coming back on Sat... then I would love to ride down on Sun.
I live in Sunnyvale.. (South bay) We could meet near 85 and sunnyvale or on 101 after which we can ride down?

Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks,

Benjamin.

PM me your contact info.

Sounds great for Sunday.

I'm meeting my friend for breakfast at 9:00am at First Awakenings in Salinas.

Contact us: goodmorning@firstawakenings.net

I can swing by your area on the way, at a gas station off Steven's Creek, and 280 near the freeway? What say around 7:15-7:30 am :thumbup I'm pretty punctual.

I plan on heading back home after the last race ends. If anyone wants to tag along.

I bet there will be others coming along as well.

Yup let me see if I can round up some people.... the more the merrier. :)
So you are planning to go to the track by 10ish? after your breakfast?

After breakfast, heading to the track from there. The first race starts at 11:15, and I'd like to be sitting on the back good side of the corkscrew the by then.

The more the merrier, I agree.

I'm not sure if this event is sold out yet, but the friend I'm meeting up with has my ticket. Yes, long ride indeed. :thumbup

Tickets are still available online and will be available over there at the gate. This is the AMA's bro not Moto GP :)

That apart I am going down for Bike Night on Friday night. There will be discounted tkts over there.

If you guys want I can pick one up for you. You can either mail me a check or pay me when you meet me.

Like I said the other thing to do would be to just buy them online and they will hold them at will call for you :)

Mmmm, good choice, I love that place. I might have to go there myself before I head out to the races.

sounds excellant. I am on my phone so can someone give me the entry fee $? I live right off 280 & 92 we can meet at my house or 92&canada, but if you like to ride straight through then let's all meet at Cupertino/las altos area. There is a peers coffee shop&gas station right off the 280&foothill exit (foothill & homestead, I believe)

Here's what I came up with from Laguna Seca's Site:

Ticket Information
Tickets for the 2008 Corona AMA Superbike Finale are no longer available from this site or by telephone from the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Ticket Office. Limited number of Reserved Camping Sites (2-night minimum - $115) and General camping ($40 per night) are still available from the camping committee when you arrive , admission ticket required for all campers for the duration of the event. Children 12 and under are free.

General Admission tickets will be available at our admission gates: Saturday - $35, Sunday - $40 and 2-Day (Sat/Sun) - $55.

I'm planning arriving at the above-postes brerakfast spot by 9:00am, so meeting somewhere, one stop, to collect everyone just before/after the 85/101 where everyone can fuel up would be ideal. Bailey Avenue and The 101??? I'm not familiar with what's there, so if someone can recommend a stop close to the freeway, so we can get back on, I'm game. Just as long as I get to my destination in time. :thumbup

Maybe Ben can scout a stop location on his way back from there Saturday?

I'll say a 7:30am "kickstands up" time would be ideal for leaving there.

Whoa calm down everyone... lol

ok I am going to post a gas station off of 85 and El Camino... plenty of place for bikes.... etc etc and literally right off of the freeway.

the main thing is that I just got a contact last night, who is selling tickets for both the days at a discounted price... (#35) for both days... which is a steal since at the gate they are $40 for sunday only..... plus it has pit lane access etc etc...

if you guys want PM me your cell#'s and I can give you the contact info of the person so that you can get your tickets ahead of time.

Ok here is the gas station where we will meet up on Sunday morning.
If you guys are leaving SFO at 7... you should be able to be at this gas station by 7:45 :p

Thanks,

As long as I can make it to Salinas by 9:00 am, I'm OK with that. Usually 7:45 means 8:00-ish, so if it's OK to keep it at a leave there time by 7:30 that's great with me. :teeth Still leaving The Marina Area in the city, by 6:30am, and will probably be the first one there. You can't miss my '85 Kawasaki GPz550. :ride

Menlo Chevron it is:

Posted this on the first thread as well.

Cool Benji, sounds like you have the great deal for those needing tickets that will be the gas stop and meeting place. I'll edit the other posts above.

Confused... I saw you post on another thread about riding on Sunday.
Are you riding with us to Laguna?
If tickets are an issue....I posted that I can get you a ticket at a highly reduced rate. $35 for both days. Right now at the gate the tickets are $40 only for Sunday.

If you want you can join me on riding down on Saturday too :)

Let me know.

Thanks,

Benjamin.
