100 Things to do in HAWAII (OAHU / MAUI)

:teeth me going to Kauai in June and hoping still have dual sport rentals there. otherwise will just veg out in the sun which I haven't seen in oh so long I'm total sharkbait.

Things to do

You HAVE to rent a scooter and drive around the island...yes it is possible, I got 2+ times a year, and it's a rip to rent a bike, like 150 for an r6....but a scooter will hold you over.

Pali Hwy, is nice to ride, no helmet law, but there's a realy big sport bike crew. They get together at the Ala Moana Mall parking lot on Sunday.

They'll give you a deal on Scooters if you rent it for more than 1 day! You can't go on H 1, 2 or 3, PM me for details. I've got some major club hook ups too, if you're into that. I'll be out that way in July myself.

Best thing to do is get your board shorts a board and hit the beach. One thing I miss the most about hawaii is surfin and body boarding.. Then after that take out the hibachi and start cookin, bring out the coolers of beer and relax. Wake up the next morning and do it all over again. Ahhhhhhh the good ol' days....

Do you have a link or anything I can look at to rent a full suspension mountain bike. Me and lil brother are going to for sure try and do this.

:cool

IIRC, the shop is called Island Biker (415 Dairy Rd
Kahului, HI, (808) 877-7744).

http://www.maui.net/~rjn/

check out this link for trail maps etc:

http://mauimountainbiking.com/

I brought my own helmet, shoes, gloves and clipless pedals and tool kit - bring a spare tube and make sure you've got a pump.

The guys at the shop gave me directions on how to get to the trail head and they also gave me a crude map of the area.
The Kula forest ride is kinda remote so bring lots of water, some food and a camera. Well worth the trip. Awesome views from way up high (6k + feet of elevation?). It can potentially get cold (!) up there so I brought a wind breaker too. I was surprised to see conifers (pine trees) in Hawaii.

Make sure to look over the bike before you leave the shop. They had to rebuild the bottom bracket on the full suspension bike I rented before I left the shop. When I was on the trail, I noticed that the sidewalls of the rear tire were all gouged up and thrashed.

This ride is big fun!

This area is open to 4 wheel drive vehicles and is also used for pig hunting, goat hunting and various bird hunting. Here is a self portrait at the trail head.

Get out there on that big blue sea and do some fishing, even if you never fished before its a great buzz. They go out on the sea early and you're back in before noon.So you still have a full day ahead of you.

ho...last minute plans...i'm leaving for hawaii on friday too...hit me up at HyperMKIV@aol.com...i can give you my cell # and if you need anything while in hawaii, maybe i can help. i'm going back cause of family issues...but i should have some free time here and there...

just got here..."home"...and i almost forgot how humid this place is...

oh well, i'm kinda bored today so i thought i'd check my emails and stuff... :p

ALOHA!

I flew in yesterday. And I ain't going back to the Bay Area. Not after I just enjoyed the sight of 3 big-titty-blondies riding scooters in bikini-tops. I damn near rear-ended somebody with my rented Cherokee watching the titties bouncing around after hitting bumps in my rear-view mirror.

Haven't done much yet. Hung out at Waikiki beach yesterday and last night. Today, I just got back from visiting the Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor, that was quite a humbling experience.

I've got a room at Ohana Maile Sky Court and a condo at the Ambassador of Waikiki across the street. It's a short 10 minute walk to the beach.

I'm trying to resist the temptation of renting a sportbike. It's almost $200 to rent an R6 with insurance for 12 hours. I find it amazing though that the riders out here don't wear helmets. Nuts!

Talk to you guys later, gonna go oggle some more breastesses.

:boobies

how long are you staying for??? i'm chillin at my friend's shop...they all ride too...maybe i can borrow a bike to go with them later...but i forgot my helmet... :(

and yeah...hawaii don't gots a helmet law...pretty scary...and if you notice...there's a lot of guy wearing like tshirts and stuff riding. when i used to live here, i was the same way...but i can't ride without my gear now...feels weird...

anyway, have fun...i'm prob flying out on friday...

if you need some advice or help, lemme know...pm me and i can give you my cell #...

WOOHOO...i just got an im from my buddy...he's letting me ride one of his gsxr 1000's today...we're gunna go cruising around. if i can take some pics, i'll try posting them... :)

This all great information!
