1973 Moto Guzzi Eldorado!

super nice, Daniel!

super nice, Daniel!

Thank you! Put 50 miles on the bike yesterday. Rode out through Sebastopol to Occidental, visited with an old moto buddy, checked my plugs and all looked good so kept going out to Freestone, Valley Ford and back home. Borrowed Anytwowilldo's carb sync tool and got the carbs dialed last night. Planning to put another 50 miles on the bike today and then dump the oil and pull the pan and screen again.

My "pill box" headlight switch disintegrated yesterday. Its hot, so think I'll be looking for a replacement. Luckily I don't really ride after dark these days if I can avoid it, so no huge rush on figuring this out and the headlight still works, just the plastic crumbled away.

So, I guess I'm calling this bike repaired and pretty much ready for regular riding! WOOT!

(m4m) wassat u on 680 / danville about 4:30 today ?

Nope. I was out in west Sonoma county again today. Put 80 miles on it. Just finished oil change and cleaned the pan and filter again. They were clean so just wiped them off. Bike is running well! Next up heim joints for the sloppy heel toe shifter.

I found a NOS pillbox switch for the headlight. Also found a custom headlight/starter relay setup that will keep the switch from melting again! Got it all wired up today and it is happy. Now I’m waiting for the pertronix ignition to show up and I’m going to really be “done” for the time being.

Pulled the bike off the lift and a fat little quail birb, who had been hanging out all day came to check out the bikes!

Some old dude in a dirty Hawaiian shirt, worn flip-flops and a long beard once told me birds were riders in a past life.
It's just gotta be true.:ride

My pertronix ignition showed up yesterday. I got it installed today. Bike fires up nicely, but I haven't taken it out for a ride yet. Was too busy wrenching on the Aermacchi. Also have a bench seat arriving Monday so Mrs1962 can join me for some mellow vintage riding! Woot!

Great job. Getting an Eldo has been on my bucket list and it looks like you scored big. I hope to see it in person sometime. Heck... you're in the neighborhood.

Come check it out any time. In fact it may be available for purchase soon, maybe. Picked up another bike today and I’m seriously running out of space!

Are you talking about the Eldorado or the new bike? The front end on the Eldorado looks very stock - check out photos on the Web. :ride

I'm sure he's referring to the picture of the new bike. The forks and fender are stock, the wheel and brakes are not stock. :thumbup

Just wanted to wrap this thread up.

So, I finished the 500 mile break in period by riding the bike on the 49 Mile Ride in October. The bike performed great but I knew after that ride that I wanted to focus on the new Guzzi so I reached out to someone who had expressed interest in the Eldorado.

Today the bike is being shipped to Souther California to it's new owner. Yesterday I pulled the pan and cleaned everything up one last time (there was nothing much to clean!) and put in fresh oil and some zddp additive. Then I put on the chrome vinyl wrap on the right side of the tank. It looks great. Hopefully the new owner will love it and enjoy it!

Thanks for following this thread!

Bike shipper arrived this morning and got the bike loaded up for its trip to it's new home. Pretty impressive operation. The driver was professional, and seemed to know what he was doing, so I'm sure the bike will travel safely. Arrivederci!!

I couldn’t help myself when this one presented itself! It’s on the trailer and I’m heading home with it now! I’ll update with more info and pics this weekend.
