1997 YZ 250 conversion

hi guys,
I can get an older YZ 250 for a really good deal. I would like to make that bike a sumo conversion.
is it possible...I dont just want to go sportsman, but getting wheels for this bike should be fine even though its older?
Motostrano doesnt have anything for '97 only starting at '98

Please advise...

It would be fast and light for sure but lack engine braking so make sure you get some really good brakes. A stock set up would probably warp the rotors.
