Obviously they broke the window and didn't get it started, so they didn't have an exact key (if they did it would absolutely implicate one of the shops) , but they must have known there was no alarm, and somehow defeated the steering lock.

It looks like the guy was hanging out by the driver's side front wheel for a moment. Wonder what he was doing

The alarm did go off - lights flashing in the video BUD posted but I think that guy unhooked it....

The physical horn units and their electrical connector on a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V are located behind the driver-side front bumper area, near the front grille and accessible by removing the driver-side inner fender liner. The wire harness running to the dual horns typically features a blue power wire (+) and a black ground wire (-). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

So the problem with LLM's and Inference and 'AI' is that some humans are now using it to help do bad shit too...

Not hard reverse engineer a system if Grok or Gemini or whoever feeds you the best answers right?

I mean that shit about the keys and the horn hookup location took me a few seconds on google so....

These guys look to be fairly professional. Little talking, quick with vehicle access and pretty quiet too. This wasn't their first nor 10th time. Very slick, IMO.

I don't think they ever were going to start it...it was always a push-job which is silent. They'll get it away then flatbed it or start it. These don't look like joy riders.

Bud, maybe reach out to BARF LEOs and see if they can help get the word out from the inside. There's plenty on here from several different departments.

I agree. They weren't out for a joy ride... those 3 guy's were definitely working.
I'd be surprised if that car is ever found... in one piece, anyway.

It was 4 guys. The other camera not posted shows it. These guys are pros do this a lot and I would love to see them get popped. The car is likely in pieces. Worth more that way from what we have learned.

I have zero hope of a return.

I had a couple friends reach out that I had not told because they saw the request to look for it on NextDoor. My kids went a bit nuts on my behalf. Last I heard they put something on Reddit and the rare car thing had KRON reaching out for permission to use it.

Super cool of the kiddos giving it a go.

I would love to see MPPD get a warrant and check the cell tower. In my mind that is the only way to catch them.

Thinking I start paying attention to bring a trailer and see about buying a new “old” one of the same make and model. I was suppose to have that car until I moved on. Who knows.

Nice to be out riding today. Not thinking about it at all.
 
Out of curiosity... CTS-V is not exactly a rare or valuable car. Are they really making that much $$ parting these? I don't know anything about car thievery.
 
I edited my post, I think my estimate was high. I doubt a 2011 w/ 95k is being shipped to saudi arabia... so most likely went to a chop shop for $1-2k. Yeah, at that price there's money to be made on the parts. Let's hope that shop gets busted while it's still in one piece (unlikely).

Well then it’s definitely an inside job from one of the shops telling the ‘pros’ where to find it - 💯 in my mind.

Timing - they didn’t wait for it to end up at another shop for a repair even.

Yea pushing it with another car - they didn’t care if the bodywork was damaged. Chop or sideshow car imo.

You think maybe enclosed trailer for less visibility?

If you are really paranoid or have something valuable enough get one of these:

It has a geofence option to notify you when it leaves certain area…..
 
This is one reason I run AirTags in all my vehicles, hidden in places where removing them would be hard. If they get stolen, I want to be able to show up wherever they are and steal them back.
 
Most chop shops are fronted by a legit shop that has a flatbed tow truck... it was probably waiting close by with the deck down. It wouldn't even be necessary to start it.
