2011 Cadillac CTS-V Stolen 8.5.26

This is one reason I run AirTags in all my vehicles, hidden in places where removing them would be hard. If they get stolen, I want to be able to show up wherever they are and steal them back.
FB has been getting hammered with (even more) ads- all about this ner AirTag wannabe that holds charge 6-8 months, get half off on four, etc. etc. looks like a credit card. Seen it? Don't recall what they're called, a similar but other product much like is getting eyeballs too.

https://www.spotminders.com/ is one.

But there are plenty of alternatives.

Hey, the spotminders site showed me I win a free card under the scratch-n-sniff... I hesitated and bailed before entering my info.

Out of curiosity... CTS-V is not exactly a rare or valuable car. Are they really making that much $$ parting these? I don't know anything about car thievery.

The coupe in 6sp is one of the rarer iterations. GM hasn't produced parts for that model for some time and the parts supply on those models specifically is low. ELR's are worse for parts; most get totaled out when in accidents based on unavailability of parts. 3rd gen CTS-V sedans can bring around $75K or so with mileage under 20K (used to be under 10K). The 4th generation's manual trans option made them highly in demand in the beginning, but the look of that car turned off many collector types. The Gen 3 is known to be the best looking CTS-V to date. Fingers crossed they get rid of the rear hatch back shit in the (coming) Gen 5's...

You think maybe enclosed trailer for less visibility?

If you are really paranoid or have something valuable enough get one of these:

It has a geofence option to notify you when it leaves certain area…..

Yeah, good thought. They acted more like repo guys...so flat bed like Mac said or trailer. Leaning towards flatbed now....also, good find on the tracker. Think I'm gonna get a few of those...my truck is on the list for the most stolen trucks...

I grew up with a guy that started a small towing company. He would tow-in breakdowns to all the shops and dealerships. I'd see him on the road at crashes, sweeping up and talking with the leo's. He also did a lot of repo's.
He was a respected small business owner... until it turned out about half the cars he was repoing weren't up for repossession. :laughing

Hi @budman is your "kid" reading this?

Last I heard they put something on Reddit and the rare car thing had KRON reaching out for permission to use it.

your call but: I think you/they should let KRON use that. (note I'm not even a KRON fan)

also: I do see all of your kid's posts on reddit in like 5 sub-cities, San Jo and such. There is one more section: r/bayarea - it has a VERY wide reach! Perhaps your kid didn't want to post in that section ? (I wonder if posting there would reach more the East Bay, but the negative would be... 600k more people could eventually know)

They acted more like repo guys
and at least one of them acted more like he got a gat on his waist.

Some updates.

3 people have reached out saying the same crew stole their car. Same white Subaru and 4 dudes.
Police now in contact with all 3.

Reddit person said they saw the car. Menlo Park PD to ask Oakland PD to check it out. Fat chance imo.
