2011 ducati monster 796 - how much would you pay for it?

Damper pffff if it doesn't hurt it's not worth it.

I would check craigslist, there's a ton of monsters out there with the old styling that are way cheaper and nicer rides.

Those new monsters have wonky geometry and ride like crap.

Now you sound like Lou.

He believes literbike progress ended in 2005 with his ZX10. :laughing

I wouldn't even go 8500. I was thinking more like 7800 or 8000 and throw in some extras.

The 2013s are already shipping, in fact, my friend bought one as a commuter alternative to his S2R1000. So it's already two years old. Plus with 5k miles, it's not exactly new.

Does it have ABS?

Here are a few threads I found on Ducati forums. The first is from a YEAR ago asking $9500. Another thread from last month is asking $8k for a bike with similar miles. So, it would stand to reason that anything over $8k would be overpriced...maybe $8500 if it is pristine. Otherwise, I'd shoot for a figure in the 7xxxs.

Guys, a dealer is not Craigslist. He can sell that bike for more $$$ for various reasons: financing, bike is checked out, bike is repped by someone who should know as being in good mech condition, it looks so pretty on the showroom floor, no CL flakes, buyer does not have to drive around to people's homes and track CL, etc. etc.

There are currently 2 Ducati Monster 796 listed in CG. One is 2011 by a dealer and the other is 2012 by a private person. The dealer is asking for $9200. THe private person is asking for $9600. I am not into Italian bikes as they are way over my budget but they do look cool.:thumbup
