2019 - 2026 Wednesday Night Drags Sonoma

Wanted to post this here because it's partially about drag racing. Luckily from the last Wednesday Night Drags it is optimistic that Sonoma Drag racing will continue in 2025.

Yeah it's sad. Especially for the drag racing community.

If you ever wanted to try it, don't wait. Any day could be the last.

Awesome. Have a blast!! :thumbup

It's really sad what they did to that program.
I had the misfortune of watching it happen from the inside out.

Drag racing tomorrow!

I’ve watched drag racing. A couple of times at Fremont/Baylands and once at Sacramento for a bikes only event. I got to see Elmer Trent run his Freight Train.

I also participated once at Baylands with my Porsche powered VW bus. I beat everyone I came up against.

Hope the wind will not be too bad. Gates open at 4:00 racing starts at 4:30. Get there early.

I’ve seen some very interesting bikes at the drags. One was a highly tweaked Kawasaki triple. It turned times in the low 9’s.

Another bike was a very highly modified Honda CBX. That bike also turned very low 9’s. Might have made it into the 8’s. The sound it made was totally awesome.

Then there was the Harley rat bike. I didn’t think it would do much but it took off like a scalded cat, went through a massive tank slapper about half way down the track, posted a speed of 160+, and then, after he went through the traps and was slowing down, he entered another massive tank slapper and got spit off the bike, still doing over 160. I’m surprised the guy survived. He was a Hells Angel and he’d attached a large tank of nitrous to the bike.

Sadly not much racing for me last night
