Programming fobs isn't that hard, but you need a special tool for it. When I bought my Highlander it only came with one OEM fob.
I ordered a kit that included the programming tool and 2 fobs, took me all of about 5 minutes.

And yeah, it's noble of you to help out. You might look into IHSS (In Home Supportive Services) to see if they can offset the cost. Not sure if your situation qualifies but here's the link if you want to check it out...If you are providing care for an elderly parent or relative in their home you can get paid for it.
You have to attend an orientation session, get her doctor to sign a form listing her medical issues and have a social worker come to your house to verify the living situation.
It's not that bad really.
Oh, and the money paid to you is non-taxable. Each county has it's own office. I believe you're in CoCo county.

I know it isn’t a real scripture, (although I also find it a useful attitude, just not in a manner to justify wrong actions). I was being facetious in regards to the OP’s experience with sister in law’s “church friends” stealing from her. They helped themselves to the sister in laws fortunes. Which I’m sure they donated all to the church in her name….
