Steven, you are new around here these parts so I will be polite.

It is usually frowned upon in the BARF community when members market their business without becoming BARF sponsors first.

In the old days, we used to say, "This ain't craigslist".

Steven, speaking as a photographer, I like your pictures too, and you seem to have more free time to go awesome places than I do (jealous). But I'll echo what others are mentioning...if you're going to advertise your business outright on barf, you need to become a sponsor. :)

It's not specific to any particular sub-forum. If you want to post threads about your awesome photos, go for it. If you want to shoot a couple of barfers' weddings and post those (with their permission), go for it. If you want to include a link to your website in your signature line, go for it. If you occasionally plug your business, in appropriate context of other threads, that's fine. If you develop a history of posting impressive photographs, and somebody happens to buy a 40" by 60" canvas print of a sunrise over the Golden Gate Bridge shot on an old Nikon F4 with a Zeiss 25mm and Velvia 50 film for above the fireplace in the living room of his house in San Leandro, then more power to ya. But what we've got here is full-on solicitation, and to do that, you're going to need to become a sponsor.

As for the rest of the thread, that's just Barf giving ya shit. Can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. FSM knows we've all taken plenty of it over the years. ;)

i'm kinda over all the barf "giving me shit" thing. u can call it what u want, but to me it's just immature assholes who can't grow up and just be friendly. it's cool when you're friends with someone and u can razz them in good fun, but when u dont know me, it's not appreciated. i apologize to those of u who HAVE been nice and cool. but i'm over getting shit on in most threads i most in. i'll stick to my GSTwins forum where people are friendly without all the BS.
