I'm a total n00b when it comes to legal process on this, but ...
I think that the only way they can get a conviction on a felony count is if the prosecution can prove willful intent on the part of the kids. I'm guessing they just put the poop in there to make the store smell real bad and never intended for the freakin' microwave to explode. In order for it to become a felony you have to prove they were intentionally aiming to cause massive damage to the store with a poop-bomb. Not only that, but they're juvies, so their sentencing won't be as severe as if it were an adult.
Sounds like the prosecution is gonna be shit out of luck on this case.
That crap's pretty funny. (no pun intended, for once) Felony is a little extreme, but I'm sure the shop owner is plenty mad. Hope they get a good lawyer who knows his shit.
