Every time I look at "JS R1" photos of his R1 painted by Motogloss I seriously get half a boner. I decided 2 remedy the situation by rattle canning my R1. Mine doesn't give me a boner but I'm happy with what I've done with some bondo & Krylon. Still waiting on graphics so I can wet sand & clear coat again.

Thx alot guys. Did the paint job 4 under $50. Krylon flat top coat & clear coat@ $3 a can,(Walmart) Masking tape@ $.77 a roll (Walmart) & the Sunday paper 4 masking paper. Had bondo & sandpaper laying around so dunno how much I paid 4 that way back when. Did it in my backyard/Patio area (10ft X 18ft).
I imagine any average Joe like me could do this 4 under $50 if there is no repairs 2 be made & skip the clear coat & just use gloss paint. Unfortunetly my upper was in 3 pieces, my tail & lower were cracked & rashed down 2 the fiberglass mesh with holes burned through. My tank had a large dent which is still visible where the tank meets the tank cover there is a gap. Ran out of Bondo resin & it wasn't in my budget....lol. So I did what I could with what I had left. Most of my time was spent on repairs. But all in all it took around 12hrs from taking everything apart, repairing, painting & putting it back 2gether.
If u have $50 & a weekend, any1 can do this
 
I can't get enough of red/white Yamaha's, looks great.

If Yamaha had a bike with this paint scheme it would no doubt be in my garage.
Is the R8 getting closer to being released?
 
They are coming out with it in 2012 I believe :thumbup

Awesome job! Love the red/white strobe anniversary scheme so much I made one myself too but with a decal kit. Great DIY job!
