6' ramp long enough to load a bike into a pick up?

Not a chance with 6'.

I have a stock height chevy silverado and an 8' ramp. Would not want to go any steeper than that. Also, use the e step stool trick. It makes the whole process painless

So you'll be using this regularly? The Trackside ramp at Cycle gear rated for 750# would work. It's 11" wide x 7.5' long so you'll either want to buy 2 (1 for the bike and 1 for you to walk on) or use a tail gate step with it. On sale at ½ price for $79

I'm planning on picking-up the heavy duty ramp from Cycle Gear to load my 990 into my F150. It's 18" wide x 8' long and can handle 1500#. I'll be using a tailgate step so I can load it by myself. On sale for 30% off for $140.

I use two ramps and it's soo much easier loading or unloading the R1. Or any bikes I would imagine. Both ramps are closer to eight feet unfolded. Great for track days.

I also have a do it yourself ramp kit where they supply the aluminum ends you attach to a 2x8. That ramp is nine feet long in a pair set, and makes loading the cruiser a breeze.

I purchased this 7.5ft long S-shaped ramp for my truck. It's made of plastic and has an aluminum skeleton. Folds in half and easy to store away. +1 for concept. However my bike is a little low and scrapes at the very end getting it on the tailgate.

Also to note, if you do choose to purchase there are coupon codes out there for $20 off. Which happens to be the shipping price.

You bought two?

The truck is stock height. I measured it and from the ground its 32" to the bed. Ill have a friend so not sure if I need two ramps. I've seen guys at t hill load a bike with just one ramp.

my ramps are over 8ft long

I use engine power instead of pushing. pushing would require an assistant.

Just a word of caution. I've seen more people crash, trying to ride their bikes up a ramp into their truck, than I've seen crash while riding. There are a load of videos on youtube with those crashes.

If I can get the back of my truck down a bit, 2012 Silverado, 8 foot bed, that sits high in the back when empty, by backing it up to a curb or a driveway with a little crest on it, I can run most bikes up up into the truck behind the drivers seat (plus, I can use the rear view mirror if the bike is off center), by running down the side of the bed (I'm 5-11, so not real tall or short). Have the tie downs already on the hooks, and I usually have one person in the bed to grab the front brake so it doesn't slam the front of the bed and into the cab.

2 ramps. When I was younger, I could run a dirt bike up a ramp, and step up onto the tail gate. Then later I had to put an upside down milkcrate next to the ramp, to step up into the bed. Now I usually just run down the side of the truck.

Loading a sportbike with one ramp and two people is always a precarious operation. Do yourself a favor: buy two ramps. Even better, spend a bit more money to buy a three-section full-width ramp so you can ride your bike in and out of the bed without any help. The one I use is similar to this one, though mine doesn't fold in half. Hell, the folding model is so cheap, I might have to buy one for myself!

If you do use the 6 foot ramp please make sure some ones is recording video of you loading it :)
