600 mile service honda CBR 250R

Motorcycling is going to become an expensive hobby if you don't learn to do your own maintenance.

89 GSX-R's had screw and locknut valve adjusters, easy as pie.

AS does the Big Bandit, the ninshitte, and all awesome cars.:)
I'm dealing with stupid shims, hopefully tomorrow, along with rotating engines or maybe lifting the whole frame and leaving the engine and swing arm on the ground.:| srsly

If it is not done by a Honda dealer (with Honda certified mechanics), you're warranty will likely be invalidated. If anything goes wrong with the bike (and it's a new bike, 1st gen so it is more likely to happen) even unrelated to your skipped or undocumented REQUIRED MAINTENANCE (per the manual), then you're probably going to be on your own, and screwed. Could be a very expensive choice in the long run.

So figure it out for yourself, is it worth it ?

Lack of maintenance is what will void a warranty.

The dealer does not have to do the service. A qualified independent shop is just as good, as long as they know what they're doing. You can even do the work yourself as long as you keep proper records and can prove what was done and when.

.... but wouldn't you then have to prove you're competent, rather than just an amateur hack ?

Ive just done it on my wife's 2012 cbr250r this morning. Paid $25 for oil filter, oil and gasket. Lube + adjust the the chain. I dont do valve checking but if you need a hand I dont mind to help you with it.
