Accidentally ordered tickets, anyway to back out?

If it’s a CC just dispute the charges.

What's the dispute? They offered for sale and he purchased. Finding a better deal isn't a legitimate reason to dispute.

Put them on a secondary sale site like StubHub. Might get some of your money back at least.

I can't imagine being in an auditorium full of smug fartsniffers that must make up the paying audience for that guy.

Well there is this notion of intent that is required for a sales contract to be valid. But that goes back to what I was saying earlier, in order to demonstrate that the action that normally signifies intent was accidental, you'd really need to immediately notify the other party of that fact. Like literally within minutes, would be best.

I get that.

But there are a series of steps usually needed, unless one is a return customer with an account. One has to enter all their info, plus credit card info, and usually confirm the order before placing it. A cat didn't accidentally do all that. I'm also thinking that a company charging double for something, with no return policy, is probably a company very unlikely to cut someone a break on an alleged accidental purchase. Then, to be honest, there's the fact that I just don't believe the OP's story. I think this is a case of buyer's regret. It happens.

I was thinking of claiming fraud til I read their terms.

“ 22. Disputed Charges: In the event that you dispute a charge and it is determined that the charge was valid and not the result of credit card or other payment fraud, we have the right to seek payment, including all associated fees, by whatever means necessary, including using collection agencies and legal proceedings. We may also mitigate our damages by relisting and selling, as the case may be, the tickets that are the subject of the underlying payment dispute.

23. Dispute Resolution:

23.1 Arbitration and Waiver of Trial by Jury: You, on the one hand, and Company and Vendor, on the other hand, each agree that any and all disputes, controversies, or claims arising out of or relating to: (i) these Terms; (ii) your use of or access to this Website; (iii) Company's and Vendor 's services; or (iv) any tickets or other items viewed through this Website shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration in Chicago, Illinois, rather than in court. SPECIFICALLY, YOU HEREBY AGREE TO WAIVE ALL RIGHTS AND CLAIMS TO A TRIAL BY JURY.”

I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

For me, I don't think I've ever had a good experience with any online ticket seller. The websites are always terrible, the fees jack the ticket price through the roof, the sale handling crashes way often than it should, and even when it works and I'm able to purchase my tickets, they're constantly getting hacked. Everytime I get an alert from haveIBeenPwned.com, it's always a ticket seller that had a breach. Every time.

I always try to purchase tickets directly from the venue whenever possible. Not always practical though.

Yea, Apple Pay makes it so much more streamlined. Just hit one button, no entering billing/shipping info.

Really not happy about companies like. They were the first result when I typed in San Jose civic center in google. After double checking, they are an ad. Ugh.

Yea Tyler, I went to San Jose Civic Center website and they have a link to Ticketmaster….looks like that is the legit ticket sale site.

Makes me not want to buy tickets for any type of show for a long time. I hope the unethical scumbags at tickets-center enjoy the last revenue they’ll ever get from me.

Ticket sales have been a very shady business for a long time.

I've done projects for several levels of ticket sales and I'm always shocked at what goes on like the level of fees, the way they prevent competition and other nefarious practices.
