I got my Infineon weekend. After that, no more Sundays for me. Maybe in June.

Will be there, maybe a bit late but I'll be there. How could I not, I got a new machine for the dirts!

Who's in ?

Whats up everyone ? Anybody doing this ride ? Will be warm mid 80's but nice out there. Maybe bring swim trunks and go for a swim at end of the day at beautiful Lake Berryessa or the swim hole at Knoxville, it's deep and a waterfall.:thumbup Who's in Maybe meet earlier for like 8 am for cooler ride weather ? Anybody going two-up with the wife or mom, after all it is Mother's Day.

Sid - a few RSVP'd indicating IN! See you at 9AM...

The waterfall at Knoxville OHV after the dirt ride sounds like the plan! :thumbup ABSOLUTELY NO 'MARCO POLO' (Video at 5:45)!

I'm in. Probably following prescribed route till the zero ton bridge. Then I am not sure if I want to go back and explore Knoxville...or I am tempted to go road 41 to Williams. Gas in williams. Then somehow traverse west via leesville and some dirt roads(north of indian valley reservoir). Stop off and gas in upper lake. Take various dirt(barlett springs?) back south to reiff/rayhouse and return via original route. Possibly something like this, I just threw it together so any input it welcome.

Last second game change, I won't be there. Gotta do some traditional Mothers Day stuff. Have fun Yo !

I will try to meet you all at Starbucks. Coming from San Jose. :ride

Got stuck at work, not out of there in time to make it. :thumbdown

Mother's Day ride

Excellent weather. Great company.

Despite cautionary advice in the pre-ride brief, we had a few interesting moment watching bikes slide on algae. Note first picture with my bike drifting to the right. Shlomi's bike did a 180 degree low-side in the water, stopping within 2-feet from dropping into the deep end of the creek: and perhaps an opportunity to do CPR on a drowned BMW R1200GSA. Cylinder head guards save the day (and a right leg)!

Lessons Learned: 4-S's: Slow, Steady throttle, Stay loose on handlebars, Squeeze tank with legs. + Have engine guards.

We had the 17,700-acre BLM Knoxville OHV area to ourselves. Other than a Ranger walking his K-9 partner, not a soul in sight.

jimboFosho showed up to show off his new DRZ. Complete with fresh D606s, girlieman KoubaLink, and a 5 gal. red fuel can strapped to the rack! WTF :wtf ! He is a converted man, and might never return to his beloved KiLR.

Watching 400+ lbs. uberbeasts negotiate Rayhouse Rd. on street tires is a humbling experience. Lucky we did not have mud. As usual I got to drop my bike...

Lessons Learned: Dirt isn't 'soft'! A 250 lbs. plated dirt bike shod with knobbies makes me overconfident and way too agressive on the downhill. Hand guards, hard body armor, and MX boots saved the left side of my body. Despite hard armor, I still have minor elbow/knee road rash and a mild ankle sprain.

Thanks y'all for keeping me company, setting a pace to allow me to keep up on the slab; And to Uncle_Fester for offering to let me siphon gas. I should have gone back with jimboFosho to help empty his fuel can ;)

Lessons Learned: per Uncle_Fester: Fill her up every chance you get! Acerbis 4.25 gal tank isn't enough on a DR250: Mikuni flatslide pumper carburetor and FMF exhaust + WOT = 30 mpg.

Please post your pics... 103_Moto : thanks for being the first to post photos of 'proof of life'. :applause Waiting for your

Another great outing! Had so much fun and wasn't all too far behind this time around. I am hoping to load off some of my pics later tonight. Watching everyone putz around on their big bikes with the street tires was sure making me feel great about the bike I was on...even with my silly lowering links and weight training strapped to the back :laughing. It was fun ripping Reiff/Rayhouse with all the new stuff. Just for fun I clocked the route on the DRZ's fancy stopwatch and from where I entered 128(Winters) to the end at 0 ton bridge it came out to just under 4 hours. On the way I decided to see what these knobs could do(within the limits of riding alone and wanting to make it home in one piece). Over the same stretch I made the return trip in 2:15 :wtf. Needless to say there was still some unexpected front end plowing and my hanging idle issue sure kept some downhill sections interesting but the bike stayed upright somehow. I probably spent 20 bucks in gas and $50 on tires but I am still :teeth:teeth:teeth:teeth. Seavoyage, I am sure the KLR will feel.....different on my next trip with it :shocker.

It was great meeting everyone out there and seeing some new faces. Can't wait for the next little bayarea adventure and maybe I'll get someone to tag along on the return trip of the monthly ride one of these times :party
