After a motard

I have an XMoto. Similar to the XChallenge posted earlier, but comes with the 17 alloys and a conventional rear shock. They are very comparable to the 690 you are looking for, but go for a lot less moolah (SMC's people seem to think they are worth $7-9k, G650X goes for $5-6k).

Unfortunately the xmoto is really not in the same class as the 690. It's 50lbs heavier and has 10 hp less.

You're not lying about prices for the 690. Originally found my 690 for a hair over 7, waited a bit and picked it up for just a hair over 5.

They're all over the place on prices on Craigslist, hell, there's one that's all "Custom" and the guy is asking 9+. I'm sure it's a pretty piece of work he has, but no way am i paying 9k for a dirtbike. I was a bit unpleased about what I payed but after 2 years of looking and it falling into my lap, I'll take it.:ride:ride

Enough said

You've been trying to off load that thing for 6+ months now. I hate to say it to you, but your price is insane, and all that powder coating no one cares about.

I also saw a big FS sign when you trucked this bike to IMS and when my friends and I saw it, we had a big laugh on your asking price.

yeah, it's a sweet ride, but like any additions that aren't purely performance based and well done, the additions become a matter of the original owner's taste. No doubt you have a lot of money tied up in that bike. No doubt I have oggled it on CL more than once myself.

You're just going to have to find a purchaser that would do exactly the same thing to the bike in order for them to see it as discounted in any way. For the money, I'll just keep rebuilding my berg. Perhaps not as reliable, but lighter, faster and I can rebuild it 4 more times by the time I could afford that 690. I think you should keep it and enjoy it. It's your custom bike and your loss will be great if you sell it.

Yeah, I know it requires the "right" buyer. I have had every response you can think of since putting it up for sale. Just laughing (like Stan) to drooling and saying if they had the $$ they would buy it on the spot. I need the later response from someone with deep pockets. And yes, I have been trying to "off load" it for awhile. While some see that as something to scough at, it has been my experience that if I'm patient, I will eventually get a good price. I have purchased/restored/modified/sold alot of vehicles in my lifetime. It has been my experience that patience is a virtue. If I end up keeping this bike it would not be a bad thing. I love it and would probably keep riding and customizing it because, yes, like my wife says, I have a sickness. And with some things "stock don't rock".

I am currently restoring a 1983 Kaw KZ750 (cafe?), 2001 H-D Road King, 1968 Chevy C-10, 1970 GMC Jimmy, and a 1974 Triumph TR6. I got bored with the KTM but not so much I would give it away. I have only so much room in my garage.

So I will let that KTM sit on CL, Ebay, and maybe even a KTM dealership on consignment all summer long. If it doesn't sell, it doesn't sell.

That's a good attitude! As a side good news, the 690 SMC bikes are becoming more and more rare, and I have seen the prices on them go up in the last few months.

I'm totally into the bike but fuck that's alot of money to spend on a Motard.... Like you said patience is a virtue and someday I'm sure you will have a buyer... Glws and thanks for the offer
