I’m considering purchasing a used BMW 1000RR but it’s in the black/white color scheme that is a bit boring. I’ve noticed there are aftermarket fairing kits that look good but what quality and fitment? Anyone have any experience with any of these? Are there any good ones?

84 views and no replies? I've seen some YouTube videos that make aftermarket fairings seem ok but I wonder if any of you have any experience?

I've never purchased aftermarket fairings, but all that I've heard is that they either suck or cost as much as OEM.

If you don't like the look, you could always consider vinyl wrapping the existing plastic.

that's another idea. Might be cheaper to go that route maybe? Something to consider.

Any ideas on a good shop around here?

Get track fairings with half the money you get from selling the OE fairings and use the rest for tires?

If it's for street, get the bike wrapped?

if you're looking to get it wrap Kuttek works in san leandro has done some guys i know cars and they came out looking really good. not sure about bikes. as far as buying kits, you are always going to run into fitment issues or quality issues just depends on the roll of the dice on how severe.

if you want to do this yourself get 3m vinyl off the internet, a blow dryer, a rubber vinyl squeegee, some isoprophyl alcohol, a spray water bottle with a drop or two of dish soap, and a razor blade. easy peasy. i used to work at a sign shop in livermore called world wide signs. havent been in there in a while but if you go talk to bob he can probably help you out.
