AHRMA at Laguna Seca this weekend! Not just vintage bikes, there's an amazing array of contemporary small-batch engineering ingenuity as well in the Sound of Singles and Sound of Thunder classes!

Some highlights:

Suter MMX 500, V4 500cc two-stroke, 190 hp, 280 lbs, no traction control, for fans of insanity

Cosentino Hypermonos, for fans of John Britten

Pierobon (Italian frame maker) X80R (Ducati four-valve), for fans of Spondon and Bimota

Lightfighter LF19R and LFR22 (electric marvels)

Many Kramers (singles and twins), lots o' Superdukes, "RSF"450 Hondas. NSF250 Hondas, Honda RC31s (Hawks), old/new sidecars

Two-stroke heaven with multiple 250 and 125 GP bikes (plus the vintage "stars" below)

And, oh yeah, vintage bikes too (on track, not just for show): two TZ750s , Kawi H2R (not the new version, this is a 750 two-stroke triple) and Z1R, RDs and RZs, Ducati 750s and 900s

Plus vintage Motocross and Trials competitions and a classic bike show!

AHRMA puts on a great show and lots of cool eye candy bikes to peruse.

I have a buddy and his son who no doubt will be there racing there little Honda's against each other. Son is now starting to beat up on Dad. :laughing

Hope all enjoy themselves!

A friend of mine was at Laguna Seca last weekend for Moto America. He was shocked by the very low turnout of spectators. I'll be curious to see if AHRMA has a better turnout. Hopefully someone can post pics or video of the grand stands so we can compare:thumbup

MotoAmerica Race 1. Lets see if AHRMA does a better job of filling the stands...

I was out for the AMA on Saturday and thought the "turn out" was actually pretty good... considering how low I've seen turn outs for even the WSBK weekends... but yeah, nothing compared to the MotoGP heydays!
what I did notice though was how "unprepared" the track was for a "good turn out"!! very little restroom facilities and garbage collection facilities! probably a good thing there wasn't a little more "turn out"!

Lovely day, mild breeze keeping it comfortable, and, oh, lots of cool bikes....

Thanks for sharing John.

Thanks John. Sorry I missed this again. What a great event it is. Next year, eh?

From 2021

Camped there for 3 nights and brought 2 clunkers to the show portion

I got to see the "two strokes" circulating... brought chills to the spine remembering the early 90s racing action at Laguna!
Too bad the Yamaha 500 at the front only circulated for a few laps! I believe it "went down" in turn 11! That thing sounded AMAZING!
Funny to me, was the Suter MMX 500s don't do the "ring ding ding" on deceleration into the corners!... seems the "fuel injection" system eliminates that!
