I'm getting tired of always bumming compressed air at the track... does anyone have a recommendation on a good trackday air compressor?

Jason

you might consider a portable air tank. you can fill it at gas stations. a 5 gallon tank will top off many tires. Cost is usually ~$60-100
other wise, they make small 12v compressors. If you have a decent generator, craftsman has a small , I think 3 gallon, 110v that works well and is quite portable. It is a bit loud. Cost is ~$100

Now that sounds good... 5 gallon tank would be cheaper than a compressor; I like that! Thanks for the input.

Somehow I have managed with a bicycle pump . I also use it when I change my own tires.

+1 portable, light and takes almost no space. you're not going to alter the psi more than a few 1 way or the other

i don't use it when i change my own tires tho.

bicycle pump is cheap and will not let you down. I lent mine to two people at sears, one who had 12V compressors! the pump was easier and faster, not to mention quieter.

The only part about the bicycle pump that sucks is inflating a 190 rear from scratch. It takes a few minutes and quite a few strokes.

+1 to the bicycle pump.

Yup, bicycle pump here 2. Got the foot operated one so I can just stand there and stomp on the little sucker like it's a one-sided stair-master ;)

Bicycle pump seems like too much work to me! :laughing

I use a portable air tank, 11 gal., and it was only like 30-35 bux at Reibes. I like having the extra air since I can use it to top off the trailer or truck tires before leaving, if necessary (especially trailer), and still have air for the bikes. Or I can just pull it out at the gas station and refill when we're stopped for fuel.
