To me, the blue collar nature of Naval aviators shows up un that beautiful grime. Sorta of a “Working Persons* Pilot” feel.
My grandfather was a WWII Navy vet. All he ever wanted to do was fly. RC models were as close as he ever got. He built plenty of Navy aircraft including some float planes he would fly off his pond in PA.
Long live Navy grime.
