And “Bug” roach lost his life in the pattern at Miramar in an A-4. There was a malfunction with the throttle / engine, and then the Ejection Seat failed. He never got out of the aircraft.

That's a crazy photo. Literally a snapshot in time.
But whats funny, is looking at it, it looks like the F-18 is just a fancy balloon. Just, hanging there, and we can't see the string.
I'm guessing this is in El Centro on a public road outside the airbase?

The HAVE GLASS paint reflects light differently than our eyes are used to. And that coating on the carrier-based variants (F-35B/C) doesn't seem to be holding up super well to the elements when out at sea.

Well in the above photo, you can see that the two wings simply don't match. The lower wing has a big smudge, while the upper wing is more mottled.
There looks something like a big 1, or a snake, was on the tail and sandblasted off.

Oh…the top pic is the F35, the lower is the F22.
It may be some form of higher level computer designed camouflage, or maintenance took place beneath those parts of the skin, or the RAM failed in those areas and had to be replaced.
