Windows 11 sucks. Crap I would say. Pulling my hair out dealing :rant

I'm in a corporate Windows environment with all the extra policy shit they put on. Everything is broken. I built a new PC just for Win11 and after setting it up, I haven't even used it once. Waste. I have some older machines for this though.

A lot of folks (for anecdotal values of "lot") have been having decent success switching to Linux distributions. But, it naturally comes down to what hardware you have, what software you use, etc.

The current chatter is that Linux is fiddly, but less fiddly than Windows.

And that's disregarding the "get a Mac" camp.

If it were me, I'd give Ubuntu a shot and go from there.

I've been pretty OK with my Mac integrating with my iPhone, watch, and TV. Stuff generally just works.

Linux is load and go pretty much now. No required licenses or phoning home.
Generic 64bit towers and laptops are all supported adequately.
Sidecar GPUs like Nvidia that don't participate in open source have binaries available you have to roll your own.
Intel and AMD with onboard standard graphic and network chips work fine for browsing and banking.

Time to go or git off the pot. Meh.
Even M$ had to put Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) into W10&11 to keep developers.
That's basically loading a Linux distribution into a Windows Virtual Machine (VM).
You can dip your toes there if it's too scary. Not getting while the getting's good is much scarier.

Unix is what the internet is made of. Nobody with a choice will pick Windows for servers or networking.
Windows end users are all franchisees.

Can't say that video is ALL crap, but it's full tilt AI on display in front of gods and everybody. eww

I'm looking to dabble in Linux as well. Nobara came recommended since my primary home use is gaming, but I might just go with Ubuntu and adjust it to my needs. In an enterprise environment, you're basically married to MS.
