Am I the only one that wants to laugh hard when I see Harleys with Ape Hangers?

you know what always makes me want to laugh hard? When a noob tries to gain some cred by posting a squid or harley bashing thread

They are pretty comic, but hey, ride your own ride and don't worry about them.

My grand-uncle has spent the last 30-40 years building choppers (before it got you onto Discovery), and I felt some of his friends bikes looked pretty ridiculous, but they could ride circles around me.

Their bike, their life, their call.

There is only one "air cooled" Harley I would own and it's only being sold in the UK.

Oh do I ever feel the same way. That has got to be a fun bike to ride.
As far as ape hangers go I think they make the bike look ugly but as long as
the rider can ride it safe and likes them then so be it.

How about a guy that puts apehangers on anything- oh, and forward controls. :thumbup

:thumbup to the harley rider with ape hangers that gave me a helmet tap this am. Moto LEO was 1/2 mile ahead parked on the median, giving me time to back off a bit.

He wasn't tapping his helmet, he was convulsing from not having any blood circulation through his arms. :p

Race with a Harley

I will always remember that moment. I don't think I've ever pedaled
so hard in my life. And, some of the credit must go to Raleigh
cycles, as well. They really make a great bicycle...

repost

What is the average size? 5'10"?

Kind of, the average height of a US male is (maybe surprisingly) 5' 9" a 31" inseam is also average. Most dirt bikes, super motartds and dual sports need a rider of >34" inseam to flat foot. :nerd

OK thread-jack over.

Hardly's - to each their own :thumbup
Moderate shoulder height Ape Hangers - likewise :thumbup
Dumb ass, arms full stretch/crusifix height, hardly in control, can't turn properly, wobbling down the road - please go and rid it in dumbfuckistan and nowhere near me :thumbdown :x

Forget the apehangers! I heard they have fuel injection and disk brakes, and some of them don't use points in the iginition anymore!

Funny thing though, they would rather walk than ride a japanese bike but could care less if that's your preference.

See, this is what I don't get.

I'd rather be on 2 wheels on anything, girls bike, harley, chopper, cruiser, whatever, than walking. I'd rather be on a damn bicycle than walking. I don't understand the attitude that goes with harleys about how anything else doesn't deserve the grace of their kingly ass. It's a fucking motorcycle, you ride it. Who cares, sit back and love each bike for what it is...and I guess what it isn't too. :laughing

My point was that they don't care what others do, they're into thier own stuff and that's that. I think it's that old school mentality, once you drove a Ford you wouldn't look at a Chevy even if you wanted to and vice versa. What the hell, diversity makes for an interesting world.:thumbup

If BARF is a sportbike forum, why are there forums like Dirtybarfing, Supermotard, Sporttouring/Adventure/Cruising,.....? No there isn't a Harley specific one,...but it's the joy of two wheel riding (minus the "ape hanger" comments),.BTW what makes you so great or the authority of riding,... on a Concourse?.....:thumbup

Not authority at all. Plain and simple, I'm just trash talking! Don't like it? Kiss it! Go read some other thread. It's not like this thread's title isn't self explanatory! :wtf

OMG!!!!
Where is the world is going? :wow:rofl:p
