There has been a long history of people talking nasty about racers, here. Hayden, Rossi, Pedrosa, and over-the-top Stoner slams just gets tiresome. And a lot of it has nothing to do with actual racing. Dirty riders might get a pass, while a guy "that don't talk so good" gets the smack-down.

And if Mat Mladin isn't number one, then you will get some serious profanity from clutchslip, 'cause I be in smackdown mode, then, I tell ya' wat.

Certainly one of the best that I ever saw ride a bike. :ride Surprisingly, he didn't get the slam.

Naw, we have too much respect for Gary to get slammed, plus he would have kicked someone's ass if they didn't believe he was the best damn sumbeach on a bike :laughing

All kidding aside, it was interesting that Gary never got the 'slam.

Also keep in mind, someone else is rating the "best superbike riders" not BARF. We're just putting in our passionate opinions. Sexy to some, smelly to others, like opinions tend to be :teeth

I agree.. it does get a bit wearing hearing negatives about folks most of us will never meet or have a chance to get to know.. all based on a public persona.

However most of us would love to be as good as they are too....

I mean if being a dick gave me Casey Stoner skills.. I would consider it..:laughing
 
I thought Bubba Shobert might get a mention in the Top 10, he rocked that VFR750 Interceptor.

Only three left? Mladin, Schwantz and....?

He couldn't possibily be thinking of putting Mat, second, could he? I said it would set me off, if MM wasn't number one. Heck, I don't even like Doug being down so far. And not for personal reasons. :x I was TRYING to go with the flow. I can't stay mellow for-ev-ar. It's raining and stuff.

And Wadafaq is a variation on a derogatory term men throw at each other, now and again. But, we don't do that on barf, anymore. :p
 
So having the most of everything only gets you number 2? There is no justification for anyone else to be in the top spot. Most championships kinda makes you number 1 by default.

Yeah, I'l like to see how he justifies it.

In their 4 years head to head Mladin won 41 races vs. Spies 29... and it would have been 43-27 and two championships each except for the shameful disqualification scandal at VIR in 2008.

Plus Mladin won his early championships against a far better deeper grid than Spies ever had to compete against.

You're joking right? Schwantz won the first freaking AMA Superbike race he entered, back in 1985.

If anyone wants to call Mat Mladin the greatest racer AMA Pro Road Racing, you'll get no argument from me. He might very well be the best Superbike racer the world has ever known, regardless of series.

I wasn't even a fan of Mat, particularly. I liked DuHamel and Jake most of the time when they raced each other. But, da-amn. Right is right, and Mladlin is the AMA superbike king. I won't even read his justification, so he loses. :teeth

Honestly.. I don't see how he can be number two.

This has to leave Spies as number one and the reason has to be the Author knows him and calls him a friend.

As the article did say Mladin is the baddest man to ever swing a leg over a Superbike.

Now I would argue that some of the others on the list were better motorcycle racers, but none dominated the AMA like Matt did.

The others because of superior talent or opportunity led them to other series and other successes that are weighed as greater championships than the AMA.
