if i recall correctly, that episode was more about bringing awareness to the mentally challenged and ultimately the message was that they have a pretty tough time with bullies and ignorant people through their daily life and how its not okay to call them retards

Edit: One of my friends is a cheerleading coach, and her favorite team is here special needs kids. She smacked the word "retarded" right out of my vocabulary quite a few years ago.
 
And rightfully so, it's such a gay word to use. muahahahaaaa!!!
