It's that time! Not sure how to answer these questions!

Are your career interests currently met in your present position?
No, change level from I to II! Higher pay scale?

What are your long-range career interests?
Keep me on the payroll!

What are your preferences for future assignments?
Keep them coming!

What are your desirable career development activities?
Sent me off to training :)

How would you answer these?

you can-

a) be honest = (have fun looking for another job)

b) be honest, but also tell them want they want to hear = (see a)

c) lie your ass off telling them what they want to hear and slurp major boss bung = promotions and profit

i have always chosen option a and do not recommend it, it has not worked well for me career wise. i do get a good nights sleep

I think you should be honest but choose your words wisely. Also, be sure to think the answers through and not back track......Like last time.

With my current status, I've only been a CST for 6 months. Seems like I have more to learn per app at this site. I rather be a tech for PAMF since they take care of multiple sites and I'll be exposed to more software/hardware.

I'm planning to be honest to our director. I say whatever I want to him anyway.

*Oh geez, I forgot you no longer report to MPHS. Well, I think if you were able to be honest with "S" and you developed a great friendship with him, you'll probably achieve the same with your new boss. At least he'll get an outlook on what your long term plans will be.

Just had my annual evaluation done and had to answer those same exact questions.

I was honest and told her what my long term goals were (as in, not where I'm currently working). She was very supportive:)

The next step above my current position would be working directly with our vendor...in New York and traveling 9months out of the year -- with my current hobbies, I'm not so sure about that.

We all had to answer something similar, but it took about 2 hours to complete.

I tried to be very positive. I don't want a flippant answer to be the reason I'm terminated.

this had me thinking of Pete's interview in Office Space. :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

My review lasted all of 5 minutes:

Good job, keep up the good work.

IME these annual reviews are all bullshit and it really comes down to this.

a) You either have a good relationships with management or you don't.
b) You either have valuable and relevant skills or your don't.
c) You either produce results or you don't.

If you have two or more of the above then you are doing OK. If not, your answers can be used to justify why you're not. :2cents
