Another credit card thread

Well if you think about it, just using your credit card raises the price of everything in the store due to the merchant fee on credit card transactions. you don't even have to be chasing points

I also think that there has to be a fair amount of people who think they will play the points game to their benefit but then end up carrying a balance and paying interest.

The CC companies use the points as bait knowing that many don't have the self discipline to pay it off every month.

Australia severely limits how much their bank cards can charge in merchant fees. For that reason rewards cards pretty much don't exist here. American Express is an exception because they bypass the banks, so many merchants don't accept it. Also the local merchants probably get a surprise when settlements from my US Amazon card come in. :laughing
