Another day, another driver not paying attention :nchantr

As far as I know she has the ROW to that lane she was in. Although she did put a wheel in your lane

I think she must have been turning on red. In which case the rider had right of way.

Not sure why the rider didn't just go into the HOV lane though.

Both of them could have just looked out for each other and been fine. No need for drama.

I always assume drivers (and other riders) are going to run the red when making right turns, especially onto freeway on-ramps.

I agree, there wasn't a need for drama...should have been an anticipated move and the rider should have just turned directly into the carpool lane.

I would approve of a wheelie for safety after that little wave.

This was discussed (although a slightly different application) in the LEO Forum. Red light she need to give way.

Haha yeah a wheelie for safety would've been a nice touch but I just felt like passing her up and continuing on my way.

This is true I could've just moved over but I decided to stay and see where she was going lol.

You may want to reconsider this in the future. Your wrists, knees, elbows, ankles, ribs, and feet will appreciate it.

Where is the wheelie for safety at the end?

Lady didn't see you, she was preoccupied trying to set up her bluetooth hands free in the car.

Gonna play the devil's advocate here.

Because cars still hadn't cleared the intersection when your light had turned green, I'm sure she thought she had time to sneak through, and even possibly may have not spotted you behind those cars, and definitely didn't expect you to be there so soon.

Personally, I would also be annoyed in that situation at the moment of it happening, but on reflection, maybe it's worth understanding their perspective?

Some of you guys would have a tough time driving in Asia or South America.
This was a non issue, be on your way

if you are accelerating twice as fast as most things out on the road you should expect things like this to happen :) glad you did see it coming, and while i have also 'seen where this will go' they will eventually do that one thing you assume they would NEVER do

next time move to hov and wheelie for safety :thumbup

That's the way I saw it as well. Didn't make it OK, but I could understand the driver's view.

Ultimately no harm, no foul as OP was aware of and had control of the situation.

Ol girl was like "Talk to the hand!"

Douche-bag maneuver steering right into the left lane instead of staying in 'her' lane when making the turn.

Rider entered the intersection too soon :2cents
