Another reason to hit Duartes when riding to Pescadero

Guy Fieri likes it a bunch apparently. I really need to make time for that spot, I usually just get coffee and continue along my way.
I love it as well, but for another reason. Chipino is not my thing... at all.

SF Gate screwed up unless a TV season is twice a year stuff. Guy is 58 so the math does not seem right.
Over the 42 seasons of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” Food Network host and chef Guy Fieri has eaten at more than 1,250 restaurants throughout the country.

It is a regular lunch spot when I am out riding. The Cream of Green Chili soup is so outstanding I just keep going back for more. :drool

I once stopped in at Duartes with my wife for a meal. There was an old woman there playing the piano. She was wearing glasses that would have been at home in a Far Side comic. As I recall, her glasses had colored, flashing LED’s.

Excellent food, by the way.

That spikey haired, egomaniacal, self-promoting fuck-stick may not be a good selling point for me, but I'll try to check it out with an open mind.

:laughing

If you go, and you should check out the bar for a little history. I always eat at the bar. Coffee, French bread and soup.

Hell. I am driving over next weekend. :x

I’ve tried Duarte’s a few times. Couldn’t find my thrill. I miss the old pizza place across the street.

Since Alice’s went buzzer, my stop now is San Gregorio. Nice snacks, good drinks, cute chicks.

Maybe we should go there tomorrow

Elton John's mom?

Yup, I saw that.
Just another insincere PR stunt.
That look is interesting on him.
He went from looking like someone who'd been molested to looking like someone doing the molesting.
Seems appropriate.

Duartes is fun, but it seems like it's always packed. I usually end up at the Taqueria at the gas station across the street. I had the Chile Relleno plate the other day and it was delish!

Always plenty of parking behind the gas station too.
