Anyone know more about the motorcycle fatality on Ralston Ave in Belmont? 3/4/08

R.I.P Chris

I went to high school with Chris. All the praise you give him is so true. He was an understated guy and one of the nicest people I've ever known.

This hits way too close to home. I grew up in Bemont and went up and down Ralston more times than I can imagine. I've been thinking about retiring my bike, and this may make my decision that much easier.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Chris.

:rip Chris

Sounds like it happen on 1300 Block, which is a car turning left into a small driveway? he had to be cut off, he wasn't at fault and the Car that cut him off made it happen... Too bad one car ahead of him or stopping an extra 3 seconds at the stop sign not even a 1/4 mile back would of made a difference...im sadden! RIP Chris

I don't know who's at fault, but lets wait until the police report comes out tomorrow before jumping to conclusions. I know the driver of the vehicle and she is devastated by this. She isn't talking to anyone about it, has become really reclusive. I feel bad for all parties involved, really sad.

RIP Chris

Damn, what is up with all of these crashes recently? My boss ran out of the office yesterday saying his nephew was just killed in an accident...turns out it was Chris. He was 28, a fellow ducati rider, much loved by his cousins, worked in video games for Sony. He took an advanced riding class recently, always wore gear. Apparently it was a left turn driver/T-bone accident.
Godspeed Chris. Let's all be careful out there.

Godspeed Chris....
Long may you run...

I was on a Monster ride with him once I guess. It was several months ago and a larger group. I didn't realize it till today someone posted up the photo that reminded me.

Here's the photo DH is talkin' 'bout.

I never would've guessed that this would be the reason for me to join BARF... but it is.

I work in the same department as Chris did, he was just down the hall maybe 30ft from me. Although I had only known him for 3 months he was an awesome and stand-up guy and he'll be missed!

Rest in Peace, bro!

All though I did not know Chris he was part of the Ducati Community / Family at the DML Forum. I wish I had a chance to meet him. He sounded like a stand up guy.

Well if the drivers negligence resulted in the riders death, which I'm willing to bet is right, then she should muther fucking feel devastated and reclusive by it.

Word. Patriot is just posting here to defend her. If we don't know who's at fault then why is Patriot already jumping to the conclusion that he has to defend her and register on this forum? Too sad in any case. :(

The driver of the car (she) will be and is at fault...It hasn't been announced yet, but Chris did nothing wrong and he did all the right things...their was nothing he can do to prevent what happen. Chris did everything right, He wore everything required and more, he took all the safety classes, but even that can't prevent what happen, the officer said...The Car pulled into a drive way and as mentioned above it was a T-Bone Head on Hit, he wouldn't even been able to count to two by the time he realized a car was in front of him the officer also stated. Patriot I see that knew this person and I am sure she is devastated, but she did make a mistake that shouldn't of never happen. ( I just hope she didn't see him coming and she than tried to cut in front of him and make it into her driveway to beat the heavy load of traffic that flows on that street to get home a couple of seconds faster)

For those that know Chris services will be held Sun and Mon times and place are undetermined at this time.

Did Chris work at Autobahn?

Just some info I heard, A co-worker lives right down by where it occured. He was tboned when the woman made a left turn into her driveway over a double yellow line. The rider was traveling roughly 35-40mph and didn't even have time to brake. He wasn't dead from the t-bone collison. Once the crash occured the lady decided to move her porsche into her driveway crushing the skull of the rider below it. It dragged him pretty far as you'd imagine a porsche has a very low ride height. I think she should be in jail for a verry long time.

God, I hope that's not true. Hope she is put away for a long time if it is.

Rest in Peace Chris

Perhaps it's just me... I think it would be nice to refrain from posting the details here just yet. Let's let the dust settle and the shock subside for friends that might still be hearing this news for the first time. I know I certainly wasn't ready for this kind of information just yet and I only met him once. Thanks. :)
