Anyone playing the Battlefield 1 Beta?

Not that I care because I'm just a lowly console pleb, but I've heard that BF1 has shit optimization for DirectX 12. Works better with DX11.

still using dx11, win 7 still, plus i don't think the 900 series video cards support dx12 either

go back to your console, peasant :twofinger

no but seriously thanks, did not know that even if it doesn't affect me. Game still looks pretty good at high settings w/o AA on at the resolution i'm playing. Not sure i wanna shell out for a GTX 1080 yet. $620 + bux is kinda spendy.

Played multiplayer for first time since the beta last night. The games amazing. Kinda bummed I can't max out the graphics anymore without a really poor frame rate.

Wondering if it's the gpu or cpu limiting me. Resolution is 3440x1440p, gpu is gtx 970 and cpu is ivy bridge (old I know) 3570k. I'm thinking it's the gpu even with how old my cpu is just because of the resolution. Thoughts?

Damn, 1st world problems.

I agree, the game is AWESOME. The graphics are way better than the beta and the "mechanics" (word not coming to me) of the game are great (lead time for shots, general smoothness, etc.).

I have 4670k CPU and Radeon 7950 card, see comparison of ours:

I should turn my settings up!??!?! Not sure if that helps you at all, but perhaps is the GPU?

I'll probably wait till Christmas or so to jump on board with this, let them get the initial bugs and first 10 patches out. Apparently they're already at 2-3 patches in less than a week after launch?

Not sure, but the gameplay is great. I don't know if it expired, but there's a cdkeys deal going around, around $35-40 for the game. I don't see it getting much cheaper before Xmas.

Yea I know (first world problems) but it bothers me. Might just build a new rig and try to find a second gtx 970. Probably cost about the same as a single 1080. Really like my itx set up though which I'd have to dump because it's only got a single pcix slot...first world problems indeed.

What where! I'll buy that ish today

I've never bought from one of these sites.. are they trustworthy/not stolen? Is your copy from here

I did yes, 3rd game I've bought through cdkeys, and will do so for COD in about 2 weeks. Never an issue at all, you just download via Origin with the key.

Check out my most recent kill...

Just kidding, I wish. Actually had somewhat similar situation (I was prone in rubble, see a squad of Germans), but of course, I got too excited. Kill count = 0.

Bumpity, let's get the BARF squad going!

Add me:

Having frame rate issues, little bit better with the nvidia driver update but not much. Maybe just not enough horse power...

Jesus Christ man... you're trying to push your 970 to run BF1 at 4k resolution ?
LOLZ

With a beefy CPU, you might get 30 fps.

Lower your resolution to 1080p and you'll see a huge boost to FPS.

Or buy a GTX 1080.

I've got a machine at work running 4x GTX 1080s, 256GB ram and Dual Intel i7 6700k 4ghz processors. Well, we've got a few, but I'm thinking of installing battlefield on it and see how it does at full res.

My desktop machine has a 1070, thinking of seeing how BF1 plays on it.
