Ahhh... claustrophobia. I understand. I can't stand sleeping bags. Elevators and full-face helmets I'm OK with but sleeping bags freak me out.

That is how I got my flip-up. A woman my wife knows is claustrophobic and decided to try the flip-up to see if she would be okay with the chin bar down on occasion; it didn't work. She wore it once, freaked out, and gave it away to my wife.Ahhh... claustrophobia. I understand. I can't stand sleeping bags. Are American LEO's going with flip-ups finally? Or is this perhaps just your personal lid or trial thing?Been wearing the 3/4 at work and just got a brand new Multitec fullface. Can''t wait to try it out.
Always a fullface on my personal bikes.
Saw a guy with a .75 pulled a HUGE wheelie on his KTM the other day. Also a .5 facer riding a Duc SS, stopping for red, pulled out cell phone and talked.
Somebody told me to wear a full face helmet if you like having a full face. That's why you wear a full face

The gear protects you when all of the above have failed you. That doesn't mean work on the rest and not bother with gear. That would be just as stupid as thinking you can buy all the best gear and ride like a fool and survive. You will, but not for long.
What it does tell you is what's most important and the priority you should place on improving those elements.
about gear, is because for a lot of new riders, it's all you've got between you and that pavement that's so thirsty for your blood. A new rider can work their ass off improving the first 3 and still be immediately thrust into a situation that demands more than they have to cope with, and that's why gear is so important.
When I spank it, I always wear a full-face for protection.![]()

Open face helmets are only interesting to the extent that you would like to grind your face off.

I knocked all my teeth out--both rows--wearing an open face helmet. I only wore it once. Never again. I've also had several other incidents where a full-face saved my teeth and jaw, so it was no freak occurrence.
I will never wear anything but full-face. You might catch me skimping elsewhere for one reason or another, on very rare occasion, but not on this point. After all, I have to wear a helmet anyway. SO full face it is.
I'll keep the full face.
