What is the equivalent of Arai Quantum 2 in inner shape of the shell. I tried the RX-Q at CG and my chin touches the lip/face guard portion. Havent tried the others.

Thanks!

i used the wear the Q2 and now wear the Vector2. The V2 might be a tiny tiny bit tighter on the sides of the crown of my head, but they are comparable otherwise.

I was in the same boat. The only thing close to the Q2 is the RXQ (what I have now)

I've had several different versions of the Quantum over the years and was bummed when I couldn't find a replacement for my last one. Finally around the end of lat year I got a Defiant - fit isn't exactly the same as the Quantum but it's pretty close. I bought the "pro cruise" version and my advice on that is to save your money - it's not worth it in my opinion.

At first glance the fit is going to be similar to the Quantum with an intermediate round shape to the aggressive shell. Also the new chin spoiler / wing on the Arai Defiant Helmet will allow for better stability in a mix of positions on a bike with no fairing.

I used to have the Quantum/f and the fit from Defiant seems to come the closest. Not sure if this helps.

I had a Quantum 2. Now run a Vector 2. The Defiant felt a little wider slide to side on my head. I tried a Defiant last winter and it felt pretty good with my winter mop. My vector lets me know when I need a hair cut.

RX-Q was definitely not a good fit for me. I was wearing the right size (per the CG employee) but the chin was touching.

Did not get to try the Vector 2 & Signet yet ...

Arai no longer has a model with a truly round head shape like the Quantum 2. That was perfect for me. I wear a defiant now which fits well, a size smaller with the side temple peel-away pads removed. Corsair V has the same fit, but is pretty noisy being a race helmet. I found the rxq a bit more narrow as well. The closer fitting chin bars seems to be common among the arai's. I also felt like I had less chin room in my previous rxq than in the corsair and defiant.

Arai have addressed the cramped chin area on the new Corsair X.

Seems all the models excepting the Signet Q are now just different degrees of intermediate oval. Webbikeworld lamented the lack of a more round replacement for the Quantum II.

The other thing to remember is they use a 5mm "custom" option on the pads to remove that thickness around the crown so you can get it to fit better. I have roundish head and am wearing a vector 2 currently with thicker cheekpads in cause I like a snugger fit.

Too bad they stop making round headed elements. Not everyone has a long or intermediate head.

Oh BTW. Arai is the equivalent to Harley Davidson when it comes to new products

OP, I would seriously ask Arai before listening to any of us. Arai knows exactly what they have done with their products and product lines and (for the most part) we can only tell you how it *feels*.
