Tldr...

Actuallly skimmed, and will read when I have a chance. We, as the lords of the internets, need to take the time to read this shit and tell the chillens the truth.

Duty.

I was enjoying the “murder hornet” thing until I saw this article from American Bee Journal.

One colony of hornets found on Vancouver Island last year, destroyed, and this year a single dead hornet found. You’d think news would have something else to talk about...

Though it is an invasive species in much of Europe.

It's more about people being desperate for news about something besides COVID, than, uh, reality. I found myself reading an article about wildlife in Chernobyl hoping for news about giant deer or some other such thing....

Yeah, what ever happened to those children in cages at the border?

You sure it wasn't a Tarantula Hawk? Those are not unusual in CA, although usually in SoCal.

From Vancouver Island to Marin. There's a lot of turf in between where they can amass an army and prepare for war. We might be screwed.

If you have a picture you can email to the entomologist in my link for ID. She's at UC Davis

Don't know what kind I saw at Benning, but damn they were big! In ground, not a tree hive.

I wouldn't be surprised. I have never seen a part of this state as crawling with critters as Marin.
