Tenn. Well really, we are in North Carolina, but according to the maps it starts right at the tenn state line.

But there is no other place like this, the intensity of 314 corners in 11 miles is just insane.

I have some vids and other pictures, just nothing uploaded.

We got here on Wednesday, took a run and it was awesome, hit it a few more times yesterday then hit up all the roads around the area, reminds me a lot of California, with the exception of that one road. These dumb semitrucks try and make their way up this road, one got to the 2nd turn and fell off the side, the whole left side was up off the road and it was leaning off the cliff only being held on by the metal guard rail. The 2nd we saw, just couldnt make a corner, and was blocking the whole road besides just about 2 feet, which we bikes where using to get around.

Today, we got up extremely early and got to the dragons tail at around 730, and was able to run it about 6 times before a crash blocked the road about 3 miles in from the NC side. We went to Fontana dam (the dam in The Fugitive).
Some great views here, these Great Smokey Mountains are great, not really mountains compared to California but for the whole Appalachian chain it is the most elevation changes.

Friend crashed yesterday a little lowside, he was dragging rear right peg and it just lifted his rear wheel and he lowsided into a ditch, picked it up and on we went. Best part is, is he was video tapeing it, and its a pretty funny video.

Touched my knee down for the first time ever today, but it was so small and for such a split second it was really nothing.

Any way, we are having lunch now, and we are about to head out again. But now that its Friday, the crowds have showed up and these cruisers are just over so they pretty much ruin it for the whole day, unless you want to just hop bikes the entire run. But every one is friendly, pretty much you can pass when ever you want, its expected you get waved by and every one is just having a blast.

Untill tomorrow, I will post more pics.

i like what you did with your gixxer. looks nice, any pics that show more of it?

i've seen some videos of semis on the dragon. it's fucking ridiculous! the corners are so tight and the tractor-trailers so huge, they cut completely into both lanes. is there a certain time of day that trucks use the route? or are you kinda rolling the dice any time you ride?

have fun and stay safe.

Did you ride out from Cali? I would like to see pics of your Gixxer too! Looks like a Hooligan! Did you really mean to say that your friend was dragging the REAR peg? Like the passenger peg? That sounds crazy, but who knows! Sounds like you are having a fun time.

And about forty minutes from Deal's is the first upward slope of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Pure addiction.

I envy you but be carefull. Don't force yourself trying to get a knee down.

Have fun :thumbup

I was reading a mag at the bookstore today where they are saying that the lowered speed limits (30 mph in some areas), police presence looking for any reason to ticket, and the combination of noobs and people speeding over their limits to pass them in the turns has made Deals lose some of it's luster.
